This custom designed mid-century modernism style home is situated on a pine covered hillside with Catalina ocean view. The design was inspired by architects Frank Lloyd Wright and Richard Neutra and incorporates the natural environment into the architecture. Walls of rock and glass from floor to ceiling bring the outside in and give occupants the feeling of being outside. The floor to ceiling stone walls enter the house to become the fireplace which divides the living and dining rooms and another separates kitchen and rear bedroom. The split roof line provides cathedral ceilings with ceiling windows across the house bringing abundant light into the house. Consistent with the biorealism style, natural materials are used throughout the house. The floors are rough hewn slate. The walls are covered with custom milled 3/4 inch tongue in groove panels of figured and quilted eucalyptus. Imported Italian glass tiles form mosaics on several walls. A truly remarkable home and great view.
