It’s time to twist and shout for the owner who just unloaded this Highland Park, Illinois property!

After five years of bouncing on and off the market, the iconic midcentury home used in the movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” has finally sold for $1.06 million.

The home has had a wild ride on the real estate market. It was first listed back in May 2009 for $2.3 million. The price was dropped a few months later in November to $1.8 million, then again the following June to $1.65 million. The place was taken off the market in February 2011. The listing reappeared in August 2013 with a smaller price tag of $1.5 million. The abode hasn’t had much luck since it’s re-emergence on the market, and eventually dropped in price to $1.25 million.

The owners of the infamous estate rented it out in 1986 for the famed Bueller movie directed by John Hughes. If you’ve seen the movie, you might remember the four-car interior parking space, where the famous 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder crashed through the windows. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom home was designed by A. James Speyer and spans 4,300 square feet. The open floor plan and giant windows give the home an airy feel. The home was built in 1953, and sits on an acre of land nestled among trees.

What would you do with the garage if you bought this home? The floor-to-ceiling windows surrounded by trees would make a beautiful spot for entertaining, but it would be a shame not to house a gorgeous Ferrari there.
