Clear Your Cookies

Your Internet browser stores information about most websites you visit in files referred to as cookies. Typically they store information that enables them to determine how many times you have visited their site or they store your login information so you do not always have to enter your username. However sometimes it is possible for cookies to become corrupt which is why we recommend occasionally clearing them.

Internet Explorer on Windows

To clear your cookies in Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher:

  1. Select the Tools menu.
  2. Click Internet Options.
  3. In the General tab, in the Browsing History section click Delete...
  4. Click Delete cookies...
  5. Click the Yes button.
  6. Click the Close button.
  7. Click the OK button.

To clear your cookies in Internet Explorer 6.0:

  1. Select the Tools menu.
  2. Click Internet Options.
  3. In the General tab, in the Temporary Internet Files section click Delete Cookies...
  4. Click the OK button.
  5. Click the OK button again.

Firefox on Windows

To clear your cookies in Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or higher:

  1. Select the Tools menu.
  2. Click Options.
  3. On the Privacy tab select Clear Now.
  4. Uncheck all checkboxes except, Cookies and Authenticated Sessions.
  5. Click the Clear Private Data Now button.
  6. Click the OK button.

Firefox on Mac

To clear your cookies in Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or higher:

  1. Select the Firefox menu.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. On the Privacy tab select Settings.
  4. Uncheck all checkboxes except, Cookies and Authenticated Sessions.
  5. Click the OK button.
  6. Close the dialog window.

Safari on Mac

To clear your cookies in Safari 3.0 or higher:

  1. Select the Safari menu.
  2. Click Reset Safari...
  3. Uncheck all checkboxes except Remove all cookies.
  4. Click the Reset button.
