Redfin's statistics panel calculates the median price as well as relevant averages for all home and condo listings returned for your search. If your search includes sale records we include a similar row of statistics for them.

Using both the map statistics and sale records, you can quickly determine median prices for homes for sale and recently sold. For example, you can compare prices of homes for sale on the top of a hill, versus the bottom of a hill to assess how much the view adds to the cost. You also can get a feel for the points where home valuations in a given neighborhood change drastically from the overall area.
To see more statistics about an area, you can go to the Market Data section of the Overview of Homes for Sale for a city, zip code, or neighborhood. These overviews have graphs showing trends in inventory and prices for those areas. While these graphs include all homes in those areas and not homes returned in your search, the graphs can still provide you valuable information to develop a house hunting strategy or offer price ranges for specific homes you are interested in.
In the lower left of the map page there is a DOWNLOAD link. Clicking this will save the current search results being displayed to a spreadsheet. This spreadsheet is in comma-separated values (CSV) format. Almost all spreadsheet programs, such as Microsoft Excel or Google Spreadsheets can import this format. Downloading your search results to a spreadsheet is helpful when you are doing a Comparative Market Analysis. If you would like to learn more about doing a comparative market analysis see our pricing guidance advice.
