Hannah was excellent. We worked with her on one house that fell through post-inspection, and the house that we ended up buying. I got the feeling that Hannah really knows her stuff, so we really felt like we were in capable hands. She was also very easy to talk to - I felt as though she was always listening, and she gave incredibly thorough answers to all of our questions. My only problem was I think more of an issue with Redfin, in that I sometimes felt as though Hannah was overworked! Early in the process she seemed to be at a closing or two every day, and if that happened to fall on a day when lots was going on it was really tough. But Hannah did always end up reaching me at some point, and I never felt like she was rushing through me to get to the next person. Overall I would absolutely recommend Hannah and Redfin. |

We could not have asked for a better experience buying our first home. Hannah guided us through the process smoothly. She always replied to our many questions or concerns promptly, and made us very comfortable with her obvious knowledge of the process and the market. Beyond her professionalism she saw us through buying and closing with humor and enthusiasm - she was as excited as we were. Overall we were very satisfied with Hannah and Redfin and have already recommended it to anyone thinking about buying. |

I had a hard time working with Hannah. I appreciate that she was able to work with us in a tight timeline, but I was most dissatisfied with all my interactions with her. First, throughout the process, there was information she missed in emails that I sent her or through the offer listing I completed on the Redfin site. Second, as this was my first time using Redfin, I would have appreciated more information about how the process works and what I could expect from the Redfin agents. Lastly, I would have appreciated if Hannah had offered more advice and guidance along the way; I did not feel I had the support of a trained professional behind me.
Hannah's Response
My goal is to be realistic with people regarding the strength and weakness of their offers. In this case, it was a multiple bid situation and the buyers, whose offer was contingent on the sale of their home, needed to get their home on the market, get pre-approved and obtain a deposit check in order to submit their offer. Homes with multiple bids typically sell for over the list price with the seller normally choosing a buyer who does not have a home sale contingency, unless they already have a signed P&S. The winning bid is typically the one that has the highest price, most money down, best financial situation, fewest contingencies and can close on the date that is optimal for the seller. Even though we were working with a very tight timeframe, we were able to complete and submit the offer to the seller. Unfortunately, the seller selected a different bid.

Hannah was very responsive and did a great job managing the end to end process. In addition to negotiating the offer and keeping me informed of our progress, she also helped me connect with lenders and real estate attorneys since I did not already have any to work with. I had a rocky process mostly due to the seller and the condo that I chose and Hannah made sure everything went as smoothly as possible. |

Hannah was great! This was our first home purchase and Hannah was wonderful to work with! I will defiantly work with her again for our next purchase:)And have already recommended her and Redfin to friends! |
I can't begin to explain how valuable Hannah was in finding, purchasing, and closing the sale. We had been working on buying a house for a couple of years. Once we switched to Hannah and Redfin, we found a house, made an offer, worked through the mortgage, closed and moved in all within three months. We've never bought a home before and neither of us are in real estate so the whole process was very new to us. This wouldn't have been possible without Hannah's expertise and Redfin's process. |
Hannah was great to work with. Generally very helpful and returned calls/emails promptly. |
Hannah is very friendly and Redfin is a great service. She'll be a stronger and more powerful agent, however, when she gets more organized (she mistook the date of our closing and I had to do extra work as a result; details I emailed to her had to be recommunicated by phone). That said, I would still recommend her services to a friend; she acted quickly to forward our offer to the buying agent, and the closing went smoothly. It's all the admin in the middle that she could stand to perfect. |
Hannah is excellent. She did a great job to help us in the process of making the offer, negotiating with the seller's agent and eventually closing the deal. Her response is quick and made every effort to meet my requirement. If you are a well educated buyer, Redfin is definitely the place to go with. Thanks a lot Hannah! |

From the beginning, when Hannah stopped her car by the side of the road to compose an offer letter for me so it could be ready by the deadline which was a couple hours after I first spoke with her, Hannah always went out of her way to make the deal work. She gave me good advice, brought up a lot of points that I hadn't thought of, kept me in the loop the whole way through, and was a pleasure to work with. |

It was a pleasure to work with Hannah. She was very responsive during the offer stages of the transaction. She was also there to answer our general home-buying questions along the way from offer to P&S to closing. Whether it was a Sunday, late night, or the day before closing, she was there for us. |
Hannah was really outstanding. We had a bit of a rough time with our first few offers and then had some complications from the bank. She effortlessly led us through these. We would strongly recommend Hannah and that you also take her advice. (everything from home inspectors, attorneys, plumbers and more). It's all very good. Thanks so much, Hannah and Redfin! |

Although the deal did not succeed because the seller and I could not agree on acceptable terms in several areas, Hannah was the soul of professionalism. She was courteous, prompt, responsive, and helpful throughout the whole process.

Hannah was very responsive and supportive through what was an emotional and frustrating experience for a first-time buyer, with sellers who rescinded their acceptance of our offer after signing a written agreement and proceeding with our home inspection - something which has apparently happened more than once with these same sellers!

We have purchased and sold many properties over the years and found that Hannah's professionalism, complemented by Redfin's state of the art technology, worked perfectly for our needs. Hannah is a great real estate agent. She responded immediately to every phone call and email and always gave us good advice on how to navigate through issues that came up. Her patience, warmth, and enthusiasm smoothed the process for everyone involved. Redfin's effective combination of highly skilled agents and sophisticated online search and reporting tools is clearly the direction in which the industry should be moving. It was a pleasure to work with trailblazers.

Hannah was very professional and very helpful in preparing my offer and counteroffers to help bring the transaction to a mutually agreeable price and then was very helpful in bringing the transaction to a close especially in coordinating with my attorney. I would recommend Hannah to help negotiate and close a deal on a place you have found and are certain you want to buy. I didn't use Hannah for the search part of the process, I instead relied on Redfin's excellent user interface to find open houses and also had a different Redfin agent assist with showing homes as well as the inspection of the home I eventually bought. |
Hannah was great. She was very responsive to our needs and was able to get us the house we wanted despite the fact that we were a backup offer. Everything we needed to do, we were able to do electronically online. The ultimate in convenience and efficiency. I would highly recommend Hannah and Redfin to everyone with a computer! |

Hannah is very personable, warm, and knowledgeable. In each of the offers we made--and those we considered, but never made--Hannah was straightforward about setting realistic expectations, e.g., "If you offer this, you might not get that, but we can give it a try." Sometimes, we knew we were making a low offer or seeing a property that wasn't quite right, but Hannah never complained and always made us feel like she was at our disposal. She exudes confidence without condescension. The reasons we do not rate our likelihood of recommending Hannah at a "10" (but still very high "9") are: 1) Based on a past (very bad) experience, we feel the ideal buyers' agent should be very engaged in the P&S "punch list" process. Hannah was rather noncommittal through the P&S negotiations--not harmful, but not really an advocate, either. I think we could have gotten more concessions from the seller but we didn't have much guidance here. 2) Another observation, and this is not so much criticism as it is advice to other buyers: when communicating with Hannah by email, keep your messages extremely brief with action steps clear and succinct. In our early emails, we would provide more background about our thought process, etc., but we soon realized that longer messages were not carefully read. Still, it's a best practice, anyway, to keep one's emails short and to the point. 3) Finally, and in part related to #1 and #2, Redfin isn't for everyone, and so I would notunconditionally recommend Hannah's services to, in particular, first-time homebuyers. As a second-time homebuyer, however, I felt her approach and attitude were just the right fit. In fact, in the final walk-through and closing, Hannah really shined. What might have been interpreted by some observers as a small request on our part was taken very seriously by Hannah, and she was resourceful, focused, and quick in producing a solution. She was a calming and assured presence at the actual closing, as well. If we are on the market looking for a home again, we would definitely ask for Hannah to represent us! |

Very happy with Hannah's service, she is professional, organized and a good communicator. She got back to us within a short time whenever we contacted her and handled negotiations with listing agent well. We ended up not buying this property as seller accepted a higher offer (and listing agent was playing silly games with us and was anything but professional), but we'll definitely be willing to work with Hannah for our next one. |
Hannah worked with me through every step of the process and managed to keep me grounded through the ups and downs. In the end things all worked out and I am now happily settling into my new home! |
The entire Redfin experience was better than our "regular" Realtor experience with our last house. Absolutely no pressure, and the field agents were very accomodating with our hectic schedule and multiple requests to see our house prior to closing for estimates, etc. Hannah made reliable recommendations for both the inspector (!!!) and the closing lawyer. Other than that, we had little contact with her during the process. The inspector was AWESOME and crucial to our knowledge about our purchase. Would recommend Redfin to new and experienced home buyers, particularly who are searching online and finding homes on their own (without pushy sales of an agent).

Overall, our experience with Redfin was great. We liked the independence of being able to pick our own viewings without a realtor trying to convince us to see other properties that we weren't interested in. Our field agent, Risa Bell, was wonderful, easy going, timely, and informative. Hannah Driscoll was our lead agent. She handled our difficult, non-communicative seller's agent, and kept the stress away from us. She did the same work as a standard realtor, but while refunding half of the commission which made it possible for us to offer a larger amount and get the house we wanted. |

We were very happy with our experience working with Redfin and Hannah to buy our home. Hannah's enthusiastic personality, pleasant demeanor and attention to detail made the process quite easy. She went above and beyond and showed that she cared not only about the transaction but about our well-being. All in all, we would strongly recommend Redfin to a friend who has made a real-estate transaction once before or to a reasonably saavy first-time home buyer. |

I was a first time home buyer and found Hannah to be very knowledgable, professional, and patient. The bank made the entire process extremely stressful by constantly missing deadlines, changing documentation requirements, and reneging on their initial approved loan terms. Hannah's experience was helpful because she was able to explain the situation and assured me that it would work out. 9 for Hannah and redfin. 0 for the bank. |

I will never forget the moment at 9:30PM on that Sunday night when Hannah called to tell us that our offer on the house got accepted. I was very glad she called us even though it was late, because we were wondering if it would get accepted, and I was very impressed that she worked until that late on a Sunday night. Redfin's model is excellent and I wish Hannah and Redfin all the best. |
Hannah was very helpful though the offer process; unfortunatly ours fell through but I trust I'll be working with Hannah shortly and on future offers. |

Hannah is a consummate professional and very organized, responsive and thorough. |

Had a very short window to prepare an offer and Hannah made it happen. Sent an email Sunday night not knowing when they would present offers and we had something out by 10:30 on Monday morning. Because of the short time frame I can't speak so much to the overall consultative experience but Hannah seemed very knowledgeable and professional and I wouldn't hesitate to use her again. |

Hannah was wonderful to work with. She was prompt with communication and helpful in guiding us through the deadlines and paperwork. From offer to closing I felt that she was a great representative of Redfin and should be commended for her organization, strong work ethic, and communication skills. I would not hesitate to reccommend Hannah to friends and colleagues in the future. |
Even during a departure for vacation Hannah was able to provide us with superb guidance in helping us purchase our first home. She was able to seamlessly transfer her duties during her absence and was then able to get right back into action once she returned. In a transaction where nearly everything was going wrong, Hannah really put together a great offense and was able to get us the best deal possible. |
Hannah was extremely helpful to us throughout the process of buying our home. She explained the different steps right from the start and told us what to expect and what items we needed to prepare to continue moving forward. She answered the questions we had along the way and made herself available to help even after standard business hours. It was also very easy to share documents back and forth via email, sign documents and respond via fax - which made turning things around very convenient. Additionally, Hannah provided us with recommendations for lenders and lawyers, whom we did use. This was extremely valuable to us as the people recommended to us were very helpful in their services. When we first came across Redfin, we were intrigued by the concept, but more comfortable with the idea of a traditional broker. We opted to try it out, and are extremely happy we did. We have already recommended Redfin to our friends, and will continue to do so in the future! |

Even though we lost the bid, it was no fault of Hannah's. She was able to gather information from the seller's broker that our price was not the top bid (after we had raised it) and we choose to not go up again. It was a frustrating situation, but an informed choice and in no way a surprise.

Redfin was great to work with. We were able to use the website to search out and find the houses we were really interested in, seeing most of them through open houses. After looking at over 60 houses across about 5 towns we finally found the one we were serious about. Hannah worked with us through all the details of the rest of the process, and we were extremely happy. We would gladly use Redfin again and will recommend it to all of our friends. |

It is great for people like us who know the market we are looking in and are happy to drive by homes, check out the area, and decide which ones we want to see on our own. Having help with an experienced agent to help with negotiations and to put in offers is just what we need. Overall, Redfin has been great for us...we just have to find that perfect house! |

My husband and I loved, loved, loved working with Redfin. Although we took our house off the market (we were planning to have in laws move in with use, but plans have changed), we would use redfin again in a second. We got tons of traffic through our place, even during the holidays. I love the idea of Redfin because all of the real estate agents we met in the process of trying to buy another property seemed like sheisters. We would recommend Redfin to ANYONE. |

I've been an actively researching real estate for more than 2 years and been very impressed by Redfin.com's capabilities and ease of use. It obvious, Redfin has listened to their customers needs. In short, there's no other real estate site that offers all the information in one place. My husband and I were extremely pleased with Redfin, our agent Hannah Driscoll and Alex Coon. We have both recommended Redfin to a number of friends & coworkers. Although we have already purchased our home, I still enjoy researching properties through Redfin.com. |
It think there was some lack of clarity around operating hours/expectations for us. Part of the reason we believe we lost the house was that our negotiated offer didn't get submitted to the seller's agent on the day we signed it; an error wasn't caught until the next day and we had to scramble to send it back in. Between the time the seller verbally agreed to our offer (we think that was Saturday or Sunday morning, we're not sure), us signing our offer letter (Sunday afternoon), learning there was an error with the document (Monday morning) and them receiving the offer letter (late Monday morning), another offer came in, and we lost the deal. We were very disappointed. |
Thank you. |
I really enjoyed using redfin. It's miles ahead of the traditional approach. My feeling is that if redfin continues to make the initial process of searching for houses to look at easier, and continues adding more relevant information and statistics, this will be the home buying experience of the future.Things I'd like to see:Saved searches: I shouldn't have to have one per town that I'm looking in. I should have more options around the frequency of email updates, and level of detail.Mobil Redfinning: I should be able to check for new listings on my iPhone, or gPhone. I should be able to get a summary of details about a listing. I should be able to get directions to open houses in near me on this platform as well. |

I've loved Redfin for searching, finding open houses, & learning about places. The main criticism I have is in regard to deciding what to offer - it seems like one of the most crucial decisions to make during the home-buying process, and it's the one time when it did occur to me that a conventional agent focusing specifically on my neighborhood might have been a good call. |

I would recommend using redfin. I would also caution the person to be fully aware of the process of buying a house, since the remote location (not in the area of purchase) of the agent can sometimes make contacting difficult. Hannah was very helpful. No fault of her own, however that she was in Somerville and I was buying in Marlboro. |

RedFin is a fantastic compromise between a "sell by owner" and using a full-service realtor to sell your home. I really appreciated the advice and the professional photography service, which made a tremendous difference in the visual appeal and presentation of our home. I think the difference of these two services (expertise in listing the home, marketing brochure, creating the MLS listing, and the professional photographs) created a highly professional presentation that maximized selling opportunities! |

Redfin provided a wonderful level of service that was exactly what we were looking for. We liked searching and researching houses online and the Redfin web site with good search preferences, notifications, and lots of pictures was great for doing that an watching the towns of interest during our search. When we were ready to view a home, it was easy to request a viewing online and schedule an appointment. The home tour was attended by both the selling broker and a Redfin tour agent. After deciding to bid on a home, we were assigned a Redfin real estate agent (Hannah Driscoll) that worked with us every step of the way through closing. Hannah was highly responsive, knowledgeable, helpful, and guided us through the entire process of submitting a bid, getting a signed offer, and signed P&S. She was a delight to work with and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy in the Boston area! |

I was not aware that Redfin employees are salaried by the company. Emphasis on this very valuable insight would be yet another way to show how the Redfin agent is working for you the buyer. |

I don't like the way the home tours are set up. I don't like the fact that you have to start paying for home tours pretty quickly. Since part of the Redfin model is that the buyer doesn't need a buyer's agent to hold his hand and teach him about buying a house, it seems silly to ask that a Redfin agent be at the home tours you go on. You already know that the selling agent will be there to let the buyer in. What is the Redfin agent supposed to do? Our field agent was nice, but he didn't add any value to our home tours. It just represents another extra cost. |

Redfin worked very well for us because we had been through the process twice before and knew to expect complications along the way. If we had been first time home buyers, we think it would not have been the best approach for us (as the process can be confusing and the leg-work in this state is significant). Dealing with Hannah was an extremely postive experience. I have already suggested to several friends that they contact her and Redfin for their real estate needs. |

Hannah did a great job keeping us up on what was happening, but the play book/checklist from #6 would have been great. We (your customers) are internet savvy researchers who like to know as much as possible going in. Information such as; who are the players, how do they interact, what money needs to be available when, what are some good questions to ask at each phase, etc... Some/most of the information may already exist on your site but tying it to a step by step guide would great. |

We had a pleasant experience with Redfin, though we were surprised that we rarely saw the same agent twice. The seller's broker expressed dissatisfaction to us about our agent's communication with her---but we didn't see any problems. |
As noted, Hannah was very friendly and helpful. However, I was passed between agents several times, which was a bit confusing, and no agent was present at my closing. This was a bit disconcerting, particularly as a first-time buyer.Regardless, I really like the Redfin model - it's far friendlier to the buyer than the traditional model. Keep it up! |

give me access to all the underlying data I want, even if it's too much to display graphically. I.E., provide me a way to run large queries on the database that would be too large for the visual map. |

Using Redfin requires more time availability to do the showings and open houses. I would only recommend it to somone who has the time to do it. I was unsatisfied with the agent sometimes because she didn't always respond to my calls and emails promptly. She also forgot some paperwork that I had to complete which was inconvenient for me to complete the day it was due. The Redfin photographer refused to take wide-angle photos of my home and the template for the flyer was insufficient for my home market so I had to design a better one myself. I don't think the marketing tools were sufficient for a very competitve market like downtown Boston. |
Searching via your map on the website is very tedious as the listings at the bottom of the page take up half the screen so you are forced to look either at 2 houses in your area or 200 houses, due to the limited expansion size of the maps. |

I have no idea what a "Transaction Coordinator" is. I did not use any of your "partners". I would think more DIY buyers and sellers would be more likely to get their own lawyer/loan/inspector/mover. After all, Redfin is more DIY. Most "partners" and referers have a conflict of interest or there is a kickback with traditional agents. Redfin customers aren't traditional. I think a nice writeup or FAQ would be necessary for each market Redfin operates in (most areas have different laws and closing requirements). A FAQ that breaks down the timeline and responsibilities (fire alarm inspection, final water reading) of ALL parties (buyers agent, Sellers agent, Seller, Buyer, Lawyers) would help in the closing process. Some other questions for the FAQ:What is radon and why test for it, Cost to mitigate. How to shop for title insurance, what is owners and borrowers insurance?Lead paint, etc. What is a final walk through? What is the homestead act, can I file this myself? |

We felt that communication was very slow and not complete. For example, the attendance at the first open house was not what we expected. After the open house, or agent said, oh, you really should have put an ad in the Boston Globe for the first open house. That is advice that would have been much more useful before the open house, not after. We felt that our agent couldn't really help us with pricing, because she knew very little about the town and the local market. All she could do was crunch numbers - but numbers don't tell the whole story. It turns out we priced too high, and took the house off the market. We could have saved a lot of time and effort if she had better understood the market - we actually probably would not have listed at all if we realized how low prices had gotten here compared to when we bought. |

I like the entire concept, besides Ihave a strong distaste for traditional agents. However the actual offer process left a bitter taste. I was involved in a competitive bid situation and worked with Hannah Driscoll. I felt she was unresponsive especially since this dragged over just Sun thru Monday. She was never on call and even for important time sensitive decisions she would just email me, even when I specifically requested for a phone call (I was not always connected). So, I guess it just proved the old adage - you get what you pay for. Thanks for this survey, it just reminded me to cancel my agreement with Redfin. |

I think communication is a key factor in making improvements to your business. There would be weeks without any communication with the Redfin agent I was assigned. Additionally, it would have been nice for the Redfin agent to be more straightforward with housing advice, ie. pricing and negotiations.

The refund is obviously a big plus. But, I found I enjoyed searching for and choosing properties to view myself online. Every single Boston Redfin agent I worked with was easy to talk to, wasn't pushy at all, very competent, was calm which kept me calm and overall, just pleasant, good people. I have already referred others to Redfin and will continue to do so. Hannah Driscoll worked with Alex Coon and, together, they ok'd my receiving a refund based on the old $3k minimum as my previous offer through Redfin didn't work out and that offer was based on the old minimum. Because the minimum changed between my initial offer and the offer I ended up closing with, they ok'd the old minimum. They went well above and beyond for me, and I will be forever grateful to them for it. The only item I'd recommend improving upon is setting up some sort of "my account" feature on Redfin.com that would allow buyers to view dates, deadlines, definitions of terms and other status updates as the transaction progresses. As a first-time homebuyer, I was on a steep learning curve and would've appreciated instant, online access to such information. Overall, I'm ecstatic about my experience with Redfin and can't wait to work with them again...perhaps both buying AND selling! THANK YOU!! |

More use of the web site for sellers. Create a page that shows all the people involved in the deal (lawyers, escrow, etc.) as well as status for each and assigned tasks. It is hard to keep track of everything via email. Also could use a checklist of all the things you need to close. For example, original copy of smoke certificate in Massachusetts. That way the seller can stay on top of things. |
