Trevor did a great job assisting us late into the evening on a Saturday as we signed for your new home (even when he was out to dinner with his family). We couldn't be happier with his service. We have recommended him to multiple friends who are looking to purchase and sell a home.

Trevor took us through two multiple-offer situations, and then on the third offer, we got the house. We were very pleased with his saavy in deciding what were reasonable offers.

Overall, we had a very good experience working with Trevor. His experience in negotiating a successful sales price with the seller was key for us to reach mutual agreement on our home.

I was very impressed with Trevor from our first meeting. He had great knowledge of the Fremont area where I was selling, and he gave well thought out advice on pricing. We had a full price offer within 4 days of listing with Redfin! Thanks Trevor!

Trevor was a thoughtful advocate for us through this process. As first time home-buyers we needed a little extra hand holding. He took the extra time to help us understand the lingo, how the back and forth processes work and who all of the player were.

Trevor was an excellent agent overall. He stayed calm and executed throughout a lengthy and difficult transaction. His advice and broad experience were paramount. Trevor, Kathryn, and the rest of the contacts I met at Redfin demonstrated exceptional customer service and transparency at all points. These values, among others, are prime reasons why Redfin works so well and is so disruptive to traditional real estate firms. Redfin make traditional real estate seem like it is stuck in the stone age!

Trevor held our hand through every step of the process, he is knowledgable about the market, did a fantastic job of explaining all the complex details of the offer and transaction and frankly is just fun to to talk to! Next time I buy a house he is first on my list!

Trevor was very helpful throughout the entire home buying process. This was our first home so we had many questions about forms, process, and timelines. Trevor was always timely and efficient with getting back to us and leading us in the right direction. He was friendly, productive, and a great support to have in such an overwhelming process.

Always responsive

Overall Trevor is a fine agent that help me bought a new construction house that I like in my first offer. However he told me that the family room floor is going to be hardwood that end up to be carpet instead and assume it comes with window screen which I end up paid $150 to install it. His market analysis price is not reliable because we are in a down market so prepared to do your own research. Not recommended if you don't have a good understanding of the housing market or not familiar with the home buying process...well I guess you shouldn't buy a home if that's the case.

Trevor was very helpful in navigating the bumpy process of buying a house. Quick, thorough responses helped to avoid any problems.

Trevor was friendly, nice, and always returned our calls and e-mails, but I didn't feel entirely confident in him as an agent. I don't feel like we received as much guidance as we were hoping for in negotiating the purchase of our home, and I came away feeling like we might have gotten a better deal with someone else. Maybe our expectations were too high as first-time homebuyers?

What can I say except WOW! I was a little nerveous going with Redfin, but Trevor and everyone at Redfin were amazing and very helpful. I would not hesitate recommending Trevor.

I highly recommend Trevor Smith to future home buyers. He was helping me all along the process, during a lengthy transaction that was complicated by outside circumstances. Every step along the way he was very responsive, professional and knowledgeable. Now I am a proud owner of a condo in Bellevue WA. Trevor Smith and Redfin: 10 points out of 10!

Calm, smooth and methodical.

Trevor provided a great level of service to us during our house purchase; everything went smoothly and all of our questions/issues were answered promptly.

Trevor was wonderful. He really helped calm the nerves of a first time home buyer. He was able to explain the process of buying a house clearly and in terms I could understand. After the offer was agreed upon, Trevor went on vacation, and Febe Cude seamlessly stepped right in and helped with the inspection offer. But, thoughout the whole process was Chelsea Mitchell. She really understood what we wanted and I knew she only had our best interests in mind. She walked me through the process step by step and made sure that nothing fell through the cracks. It was very comforting knowing that Chelsea was looking out for us. The field agents as well, Noah Manning and Nelia Flores were very knowledgable and helpful in the whole process. All around, it was a great team and I will always recommend Redfin.

Trevor was very professional and responsive to us, which we appreciated during these market conditions. We used Redfin to both buy our new house while selling our old one, and Trevor and Chelsea were on top of things from start to finish. I'd definitely recommend them both and use Redfin if I had to do it all again--you get the service you need and the cost savings is huge in today's real estate climate.

Phenomenal service! Redfin has a great business model. The whole experience was exceptional from the start to the finish. Trevor, Chelsea, and Loren were instrumental.. they're personable, professional, and dare I say, extremely practiced and proficient at the process.

Trevor is very knowledgeable of the Seattle market. He was very responsive to all facets of the home purchase and was always available via phone to answer questions and take care areas of concern.

Absolutely amazing service from beginning to end! When I have dealt with other real estate companies, I have generally felt I paid far too much for too little, but I thought that Redfin's service was a bargain! Trevor constantly updated us with the latest data for our area, and took the time to answer every last one of our questions, both in e-mail and on the phone. When he visited for our in-home consultation he examined every detail of our condo, and gave excellent advice for improving it in a tough market. In hindsight, his pricing advice was spot-on, and we sold much more quickly than other units in our building. Trevor was a pleasure to work with throughout the process of finding our new home. He provided a tremendous amount of guidance and insight, and he was very patient as we worked together to evaluate several properties. We were a bit hesitant to try Redfin at first, but in the end, we are so happy that we did. At all times, we felt like we had a highly competent team of people working together - with our best interests in mind.

We're 2nd time homeowners, and Trevor handled our negotiations very well, who was as good if not better than our traditional agent on our first purchase. His experience shone through from the offer process through our escrow closing. The Redfin system might not be for everyone, especially if you prefer working with a single agent and you want to talk with him or her every time. The majority of our discussions were via e-mail and while a good number of important milestones in the purchase (offer, counteroffer, inspection, closing dates) were discussed verbally, sometimes I had a more difficult time trying to get him on the telephone -- undoubtedly because he's so busy. Overall, we'd definitely work with Trevor again!

Great experience on electronic paperless process.

It was a great experience for me - although people who need a bit more hand-holding may be more comfortable with a traditional agency.

We made the mistake of looking at our first few houses with an agent from another company. In each case, their website gave only the approximate location of the house, so we often ended up following his car far outside the area we had said we were interested in, and found we had to ask him many questions which he answered by consulting a printout he had with him. Fortunately, we stumbled across Redfin.com, and couldn’t believe how much information you make available online. Our search became much more efficient, and on our third tour with Redfin we found a house that was everything we had hoped for, despite our sinking expectations when we toured with the other agent. The Redfin agents were surprisingly objective about the homes we looked at, pointing out their flaws rather than aggressively trying to sell us on anything. We quickly grew comfortable with our selling agent’s advice, and in hindsight it seems like it was all extremely accurate. Overall, it’s terrific to see such a unique company and such an open approach to doing business. The discounts almost seem too good to be true on top of everything else, but there was no catch and you saved us a lot of money!

I only rate an 8 because I don't know that Redfin's mode of operating works for everyone - for a computer competent friend/acquaintance with a bit of extra time, I wouldn't hesitate to say a "10". We really enjoyed working with Trevor and Corey, and both were professional, genuine, and very hard working on our behalf. Thank you!! We love our house!!

I thought they entire process went quite well. Your real estate agents (Andrew Hazalleh and Trevor Smith) did an outstanding job. The only recommendation that I would have is to somehow fix the "touring a home" process. On several occasions we would find a house (using the Redfin search site) and then would want to see the house ASAP and the "touring a house" seem to take too long to set up. In a traditional real estate agency relationship this would have been doen the same day. We did take a few tours with Redfin and they were fine but it just seem like a real hassle. Other than that, I would recommend Redfin to buy a house anytime. Very professional.

This is not directly about Redfin but rather your competition. A couple of times while driving by a property or when I arrived early for a tour, non-redfin agents struck up conversation with me. When they heard I was Redfin they gave me a big tsk-tsk and told me about how they heard Redfin was a having a lot of trouble with poor communication between the multiple individuals that would help with the purchase of a home. The proverbial one hand not knowing what the other hand was doing. I didn't let them deter me but it did, at the time, leave me a bit worried that maybe I was making the wrong choice. Maybe I should just go with a traditional agent. As soon as I made my offer, Trevor contacted me and the the Redfin gears kicked in, all of my worries went away. But etween when I started looking and when I made my offer I wold have to say my confidence in Redfin was touch and go. No one knew who I was. No one was concerned if I was getting good service, bad service or no service. Or at least that is how it felt. The tour guides were always very helpful on the tours but as soon as the tour was over poof they were gone. If there was a way to let people that have signed up for an account know that Redfin is there while keeping the pressure blissfully low like it is now you might retain customers that unlike me, scared easily. It doesn't need to be a person calling or sending manual emails. That would raise your costs which none of us want. But maybe a weekly automated email with a summary of their activity for the week, an email address to send noob like questions to and some home buyer tips or excerpt from the blog. Something to let the home buyer know that low pressure doesn't mean forgotten. I am so happy that I stuck it out and purchased my home with Redfin and that I had Trevor there to help me through this confusing process. I can't imagine buying or selling a home any other way. A huge benefit to dealing with Redfin was being able to perform most of the transaction electronically. Having to print out paperwork, sign it, then fax or scan the pages back in to send back was a huge pain. Providing the ability to digitally sign documents would greatly improve the experience.

- It will be great if we can search by type of house (not just house or condo, but townhomes also)- It will be great if field agents can proactively comments on things when we are checking houses.- It will be great if we could sort the favorites/bookmarks of the listing by price/year build/etc.

Inconsistency in that Tor Slinning originally had our offer and presented it back and forth. Then Tor unexpectedly left. We felt though this may have been unavoidable, it truly disrupted our service and was difficult to resume from. Thereafter, Trevor Smith our new agent immediantly took 10 days off. This didn't seem appropriate given our circumstances with Tor.

One thing I would recommend is providing a time line of when to do things. We got a little caught up in packing and prepareing and we didn't get around to calling the utility folks until the day of closing, by which point the services had been disabled by the seller. Since it was a Friday and our stuff was being moved on a saturday, we couldn't wait until Monday to have the services turned on for free and had to pay $120 for emergency reactivation.

I think providing a checklist for people to go off of would be a simple thing for you to set up and would be very worthwhile to your customers as things get ridiculously crazy when you are moving.

I love the service and working with Melissa.

Trevor and I started off on bad footing told him what I wanted to have happen and he attempted to tell me that I needed to trust in is abilities. I had only a few conversations with him and was not sure that was something I could do.

I wanted to go after a house that had a contingeny on it and hoped that my agent would ask enough questions fromt he people capable of providing the answers. I did feel that he was on my side and working with me.

When I went to sign the sale agreement, even though it was on a Saturday, he was there only when he found out the signing was near his house. I dont feel he was engaged in the singing process and later gave no feedback on the sale agreement. After this appointment, I have not heard anything back from him at all. Not one call or email.

When closing, the amount of my redfin savings was not 2/3rds, but instead only 1/3rd. When reviewing my HUD statement, I knew it was immediately incorrect. The problem is that I had to bring several thousand additional dollars to close. The problem was rectified in a timely manner, nowever the HUD statement should have been reviewed before it went to escrow saving me the hassle of bringing additional monies to close, then waiting for escrow to send me back a refund.

In general, I am satisfied with Redfin's work to close the deal. I never used a traditional agent before, so I don't know how Redfin would be different from the traditional agents (either better or worse), however, what I do know is that Redfin doesn't quite meet the expections I had after I read the introductions in Redfin.com, especially about price neogociation. The Redfin agent helped me on setting up my first offer price based on only one comp sale (later I found out there aer several comp sales in the same development and around the same timeframe we could use), and after that the price negotiation is between me and the seller directly. There isn't much inputs from the Redfin agent on the price negotiation phrase. Another place which I needed helps but were not able to get from Redfin is reviewing my resale certificate.Rest of my experiences with Redfin is pretty good. I have a neutral opinion about whether I should recommend to friend is because: 1. as I said, I don't have experience with traditional agent, so I cannot say which one is better. 2. The most attractive point of choosing Redfin is the 2% refund, if any traditional agents would offer the same refund (sometimes this do happens on large sale), I don't see how Redfin could have other advantages over the traditional ones

Trevor Smith sets the pace on how to service a customer, he went way out of his way to make my purchase happen. I think he would be a great trainer.

I would have liked more information and help researching the neighborhood (crime stats, Real Estate developments, etc.) Unfortunately the neighborhood we bought into is not exactly what we expected, and I somehow feel that maybe a traditional agent might have given us more insight and more things to consider - especially since it was our first time home buying.

Info on price reductions and status of transactions

It would be nice to be able to search and setup alerts for specific criteria for houses. For example, I was looking for a condo, under a certain price, with a garage. A garage was not an available item to filter by. Another suggestion is one I mentioned to Cory and Trevor already, and that is to have multiple units at a single location "hover" out when you mouse over them on the map, like Google does with photos of a single location on their maps. Its difficult to sort thru a few condo units in a single building when they are stacked up on top of each other.

The structure of Redfin works well, however, the execution is vital and lacking. By this I mean, because I never meet a person that is helping me make the biggest purchase of my life, they must provide over-the-top performance. They must respond promptly to all communications, convince me over the phone that they are competent, tough negotiators. Above all, they must be experts. One area I had concerns with was during negotiations. Trevor was apprehensive during negotiations. Even though I was dealing with Quadrant, he should have humored me and tried to get everything he could. I was the one who got Quadrant to pay over $1700 in closing costs, not Trevor. This indicated to me that there was some more left on the table. Another note about this transaction; from every person, excluding my mortgage broker, I was told ""nobody has ever asked for that before."" Hearing this was very frustrating. It seemed I needed to prod people to do their jobs. For Redfin to be exceptional, you need to take direction, follow up promptly, and never forget who the customer is. The industry is riddled with impersonal, unprofessional people and Redfin needs to create a large divide from them. Accomplish this and nobody can touch you. I hope this didn't seem too harsh. I see lots of potential in Redfin and I would like to see it change real estate forever.
