My son is a freshman this year, although he should be doing alot better with his grades, I believe the environment at CMA could be better. He tells me that there are fights everday. I believe that there should be more dicipline. The children are very disrespectfull and curse alot, staff walk pass and do not reprimand them. I know that has alot to do with uninvolved parents and there is only so much that staff members can do. But if these kids know that there are consequences to undesirable behavior, they will straighten up. I do commend CMA on thier communication with parents (like myself) who welcome it. Overall it's a good school, but if bad behavior is left uncorrected, the attitude of otherwise good students will be affected. I was so embarressed at this year's Black History Assembly, our children are so lost and they don't even know it.

Well, I don't have much to say about CMA seeing as this is my son's freshman year, and it's only been three weeks, but what little I have seen impresses me. I love the structure and the discipline the school brings. School starts at 7:30am, but most of the students are there as early as 6:00am. There are lots of activities available for the students to become involved in, and help is available for anyone having academic difficulties through the Avid program. So far, I like what I see.
