Southwood, located between San Jose Boulevard and Old St. Augustine Road, is a residential and suburban Jacksonville neighborhood with a tree-lined street grid and pocket parks. The neighborhood’s character concentrates around the San Jose Boulevard corridor near University Boulevard, where storefront plazas, taquerias, and service shops set a steady, everyday rhythm. Mid-century ranch homes and newer infill sit beside broad lawns and mature oaks, giving the streets a low-slung, lived-in look. Daily routines orbit nearby green space and the riverfront, with bikeable blocks feeding into larger trails. Cultural touchstones such as San Marco Theatre, the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens, and the Riverside Arts Market help define off-hours plans.
