Downtown Tampa, located between the Hillsborough River and Ybor City, is a waterfront and high-rise Tampa neighborhood with a Riverwalk promenade and a skyline of glass towers. The neighborhood’s character concentrates around the Tampa Riverwalk by Sparkman Wharf, where food stalls, patios, and harbor views set a steady, social pace. Historic brick and early-20th-century facades around Franklin Street contrast with newer residential towers and office blocks. The Tampa Theatre anchors the arts scene with its ornate movie palace interior. Amalie Arena and the Straz Center for the Performing Arts keep event nights humming along the riverfront.
