My Misfortune Could Be Your Good Fortune! This home is located in a village named Utica, Missouri which is approximately five (5) miles from Chillicothe, Missouri, The Home of Sliced Bread!! Truly where sliced bread began!! Down Highway 36 about an hour or so, you have the home place of Walt Disney and in the other direction, the home place of JC Penney!! You are approximately an hour and a half from Kansas City. Utica has one paved road that leads into the setting with two churches and a post office! It truly represents life simplified! Slow living with your front porch view of the rarely used baseball diamond, basketball court and large field. Your lawn is shaded by a canopy of beautiful trees with the house located on three lots. This home and this village represents 30 years of my fairy tale come true with the love of my life. Tragically, he died and sadly, less than a year after his death. people living in the home caught the little workshop behind the house on fire. The community Fire Department could not save the workshop but managed to save the home, the main damage being the scorched back of the house as the picture depict. It was a blessing that the interior of the home did not experience fire damage, not even smoke damage. There is water damage of the kitchen ceiling and currently all utilities have been shut off. The home was built in the 30s but my husband had replaced the kitchen flooring with laminate and under the carpet in the living room and bedroom are the original hardwood floors. Sadly the people living there did not care for the home as we had and it is in need of some serious tender loving remodeling! Or perhaps you would want to start completely from scratch to make your own fairy tale come true!
