Collection of the Week: Gatsbyesque Estates

Based on the latest trailer, we predict that “The Great Gatsby” movie will make the Roaring Twenties in vogue once again thanks to the beautiful period visuals that its director, Baz Luhrmann, took painstaking measures to create. Today Redfin blogged about three Long Island homes that exemplify the extravagant style of the 20s. But why stop there?

There are homes throughout the U.S. that echo the 20s in their architecture, interior design, and landscaping, and I gathered a selection in my “Gatsbyesque Estates” Redfin Collection. Rich colors, bold geometric shapes, and lavish ornamentation – attributes of the Art Deco movement – characterize many buildings from this period.
