With the 87th Academy Awards just around the corner, Redfin decided to take a look at the homes of some of the nominees to see where these stars spend their time when they aren’t in front of the camera. Some of these cribs deserve an award themselves. Take a look!
Julianne Moore
Nominated for Best Actress, “Still Alice”
Julianne Moore is a New York City kind of gal; the Oscar-nominated actress owns a classic townhouse on West 11th street. Moore attempted to sell the home twice over the past few years but wasn’t able to get the home a new owner, according to Business Insider. It’s hard to imagine Moore having an issue selling the NYC crib; the charming abode was built in the late 1800s and is full of intricate detail and allure. The apartment has beautiful hardwood floors, exposed brick and wood-beamed ceilings. With more than one fireplace in the home, Moore will have plenty of options for mantles to display her award if she takes one home Sunday night.
Michael Keaton
Nominated for Best Actor, “Birdman”
Michael Keaton currently owns property in Pacific Palisades, California. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom home was built in 1957 and spans 3,584 square feet. The gated compound sits on just over half an acre of land in the Riviera neighborhood of Pacific Palisades, which is home to many award-winning celebrities.
Steve Carell
Nominated for Best Actor, “Foxcatcher”
Back in 2010, Steve Carell and wife Nancy Carell swapped their Toluca Lake, California, home for another one just around the corner, paying $6 million. The six-bedroom home was built in 1937 and spans 5,126 square feet. Carell isn’t the first funnyman to own the home; “The Office” star purchased the property from American comedian Jonathan Winters.
J.K. Simmons
Nominated for Best Supporting Actor, “Whiplash”
“Whiplash” actor J.K. Simmons picked up this Italian contemporary home with his wife back in 2009 for $2.5 million. The five-bedroom abode is in Studio City, California, and spans 6,480 square feet. The couple bought the home brand new; it was built the same year they purchased it. The home is bathed in natural light, thanks to large windows and open living spaces. When Simmons isn’t busy starring in Oscar-nominated films, we imagine he spends a lot of time poolside, taking in the California rays from the comfort of his own backyard.
Emma Stone
Nominated for Best Supporting Actress, “Birdman”
In 2012 Emma Stone scooped up a beautiful Beverly Hills abode for $2.5 million with her beau, actor Andrew Garfield. The gated home has four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. The living room has high, wood-beamed ceilings with a gorgeous fireplace. We’re pretty jealous of Emma’s enormous master bath, which also comes with French windows, letting in natural light from the outside. It wouldn’t be a celeb’s home without a spacious outdoor entertaining area with a pool and massive deck, which is easily accessible from the formal dining room of the home through a pair of French doors. Not bad for someone who is only 26 years old!
Keira Knightley
Nominated for Best Supporting Actress, “The Imitation Game”
The Oscar-nominated actress splashed out $6.5 million for her new London digs this past December, according to Curbed. The 2,775-square-foot crib has five bedrooms with a fireplace in every room! The home also has a wine cellar, home fitness center and a charming garden in the backyard.
