Gridiron Condos Coming to Seattle’s Pioneer Square

Seattle’s oldest neighborhood is finally becoming the destination shoppers and diners have dreamed of. A second wave of retail, including Intrigue Chocolate, Elm Coffee and Casco Antiguo, have blossomed on the heels of Bar Sajor, The London Plane, and Cone & Steiner. Vibrant outdoor furniture, games, and programmed activities in Occidental Park are collectively breathing new life into Pioneer Square.

The only thing missing now are more places to live. From January to June of 2015, only seven individual home sales occurred in Pioneer Square, despite thousands of people searching Redfin.com for homes in the area during the same time period. As Seattle grapples with a population boom and the lowest housing supply in decades, demand is higher than ever.

Daniels Real Estate, a successful and respected developer in historic, adaptive reuse, will soon bring relief to the neighborhood. Gridiron, a 107-unit condominium tower with ground floor retail, is planned at the intersection of Occidental Avenue S and Railroad Avenue. Gridiron is adjacent to the planned Stadium Plaza park at the redeveloped Seattle Waterfront Promenade.
