Breaking news! Another San Francisco mansion has sold for millions of dollars – $9,998,000 to be exact (but who’s counting?!).
The previous owner of this four-bedroom, five-bathroom abode was probably happy to unloaded it since the home sat on the market for a little more than a year. Having millions of dollars subtracted from the original list price of $16 million probably persuaded the lucky buyer into purchasing the mansion for the “bargain” price of just under $10 million. But, a home selling for under the asking price is a rare occurence in San Francisco. According to Redfin’s San Francisco Market Tracker, nearly 83 percent of residential properties sold for more than their asking price in July.
While this European-style mansion boasts sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge, $16 million is still a lot of of money even in an exceptionally expensive market like San Francisco. Then again, the most expensive home currently for sale in the SF area is a historic mansion built in 1904, listed for $18 million.
