Cities with the most Pokemon Go fans

Many of us thought that Pokémon was a thing of the past; but with the release of the new game Pokémon Go, it’s all anyone can talk about. It seems like Pokémon Go has taken over society and pushed everyone into the virtual world inside their phones. Whether you’re refusing to download the app, or you’ve considered quitting your job to play Pokémon full time, you’re probably well aware of how addicting the game can be. Pokémon Go is popular all over the world, but within the U.S. there are a few cities that take the craze to a new level.

To find out which cities are the most obsessed with Pokémon Go, we used Google Trends to see where people are searching for Pokémon terms like Pokémon, Squirtle, Blastoise, Charizard and Bulbasaur. Google Trends uses a scale of 0-100 to indicate how high each city ranks in terms of search volume per capita.

Top top 10 cities searching for these terms are:

1. San Antonio: 94.8

Most searched terms: Blastoise, and Bulbasaur with scores of 100

2. San Jose: 92

Most searched term: Charizard with a score of 100

3. Los Angeles: 89

Most searched term: Blastoise with a score of 93

4. San Diego: 86.8

Most searched term: Blastoise with a score of 98

5. Houston: 80

Most searched terms: Squirtle, and Bulbasaur with a score of 81

6. Phoenix: 77.8

Most searched term: Pokémon with a score of 81

7. Austin: 62.4

Most searched term: Bulbasaur with a score of 82

8. Portland: 47.4

Most searched term: Bulbasaur with a score of 92

9. Las Vegas: 39.8

Most searched term: Squirtle with a score of 100

10. Irvine: 35

Most searched term: Pokémon with a score of 99
