With winter in full effect across most of the country, Pantone released their decidedly springy Color of the Year for 2017 today. The color swatch PANTONE 15-0343, better known as Greenery, is described as a “fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.”
Pantone chose Greenery to represent 2017 as a way to help combat the political, social and environmental turmoil that dominated much of 2016. Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, says they chose “greenery” because it represents a “desire to rejuvenate and revitalize.”
As with past Color of the Year choices, we’re sure to see this vibrant hue pop up not only in fashion, but in home decor trends as well. If nothing else, it’s a great reminder to add more live plants in and around your home.
