Now that construction is nearly complete on his home in Bel Air, Michael Bay is ready to unload some property. The mega movie producer just listed another estate he owns in the area for $13.5 million. The four bedroom, 4.75 bath home spans nearly 8,000 square feet, and is located between Bel Air and the Holmby Hills in Los Angeles.

The modern home was designed by the late architect Jack Warner, whose firm designed the Bel Air Country Club and a wing of the Santa Barbara Museum. It features clean, crisp lines, modern appliances, soaring ceilings, and an indoor/outdoor flow. The home sits at the top of a long gated drive, with unobstructed views of the entire Los Angeles basin. Other features include a state-of-the-art theatre, wine cellar, built-in bar, pool and spa, library, maid’s quarters, and outdoor dining areas. Bay purchased the home in 1999 for $5.16 million, so he stands to make money on the sale.

In October 2009 Bay purchased another Bel Air home for $10.9 million, and immediately tore it down, causing a bit of an uproar among architecture enthusiasts. According to Curbed, the home was designed in 1951 by Burton Schutt, had interiors by Billy Haines, and was once home to steel magnate Earle Jorgensen and his wife, Marion. The home he built on the property was designed by Oppenheim Architecture + Design, and according to the architects’ website, it spans 30,000 square feet and has “a large theater, movie prop museum, parking, spa and bedrooms” nestled into the hill, while “two master bedroom modules hover above.”

Bay also owns a 17,500 square foot mansion in Miami, which he purchased in August 2007 for $17 million. Last year he sold a home in Santa Barbara for $4.9 million, which he had owned since 1997.

What do you think of Michael Bay’s home? Does it remind you of “Transformers?”
