What do Cincinnati, Louisville and Salt Lake City have in common? Not a whole lot until today when they officially become home to Redfin agents, who are paid based on customer satisfaction! People in these areas can now search for homes on Redfin.com and the Redfin iOS and Android apps.

Redfin has a unique approach to real estate that combines technology and top-notch customer service to create a better home-buying and selling experience for consumers. Redfin technology empowers both our agents and customers with information and tools that make buying and selling a home more efficient, less stressful and more fun.

Redfin real estate agents spend zero time looking for new business. This means we can focus all our time on delivering great service while helping clients buy or sell their homes. This efficiency enables Redfin to pass savings on to clients through refunds and lower listing fees.

Everyone who buys a home with a Redfin agent in Cincinnati, Louisville and Salt Lake City will receive a refund at closing. For example, someone buying a $300,000 home with a Redfin agent in these cities would receive a refund of over $1,500 at closing. For sellers, Redfin charges a 1.5 percent fee instead of the typical 3 percent commission. Redfin agents provide a beginning-to-end home-selling service, from pricing and staging advice and professional photography through the negotiation and closing processes. On average, a person who sells a home with a Redfin agent saves about $6,800. To date, Redfin has saved its customers more than $200 million in real estate fees.

Like other Redfin real estate agents, our agents in Cincinnati, Louisville and Salt Lake City earn salaries and receive health care and other benefits. Redfin agents are paid bonuses based on customer satisfaction, not commission.

To deliver this great service, we need great leaders. Here’s who we hired:

Cincinnati, Ohio: Trina Walton

Trina is a real estate broker and an attorney. Providing superior customer service has been a constant throughout her career. Trina has lived in Cincinnati for more than 30 years and earned her law degree from the University of Cincinnati. After practicing law for several years, she turned to real estate sales working as a realtor at first RE/MAX Unlimited and then Comey & Shepherd for nearly nine years. When she heard Redfin was on its way to Ohio, she jumped at the opportunity to grow Redfin, which has a business model focused on customer advocacy.

Louisville, Kentucky: Danielle Field

Danielle joins Redfin with nine years of experience as a real estate agent, most recently working for Rector Hayden Realtors and RE/MAX. Danielle is excited to introduce homebuyers and sellers to Redfin’s one-of-a-kind technology and website, which shows every home for sale in Louisville. Danielle is extremely detail-oriented, which is a skill she uses to keep her clients informed and comfortable throughout negotiations and closing.

Salt Lake City, Utah: Kristopher Furrow

Kristopher began his career in real estate in 2001 selling new construction for a builder’s development team. He went on to work in the mortgage business, before returning to real estate in 2007. He most recently was an associate broker at Windermere in Salt Lake City. Kristopher has served as Tech Chair for both the Salt Lake Board of REALTORS? Young Professionals Network and for The Utah Council of Residential Specialists and can’t wait to share Redfin tools and technology with people in Salt Lake City.

Trina, Danielle and Kristopher are already on the ground touring homes with buyers and guiding them through the offer, negotiation and closing processes, and helping people sell their homes. If you’re thinking about buying or selling, feel free to reach out to Trina, Danielle or Kristopher, schedule a tour or start a conversation about your home’s value. Redfin.com and the Redfin mobile apps also offer several ways to find out about homes for sale and what the local market is like even before you’re ready to dip your toe in the water, including:

  • Instant Tour Scheduling: Ability to instantly schedule a home tour with a Redfin agent with a single click from a browser, iPhone, iPad or Android app.
  • Instant Updates: Smartphone or email notifications when new homes are listed or when prices drop.
  • Redfin Hot Homes: Proprietary algorithm that indicates which homes for sale are likely to sell within two weeks.
  • Redfin Home Value Tool: A more accurate way to find out what your home is worth using self-selected comparable homes for sale in your market.
  • Search by School: Shows all the homes for sale served by a certain school with one easy search.
  • Tour and Offer Insights: Real-time statistics and notes from Redfin agents about thousands of homes and offers.
  • Redfin 3D Walkthrough: High-resolution, interactive views from every angle inside homes listed with a Redfin agent. (coming soon)
  • Redfin Matchmaker: Software that recommends unexpected listings to Redfin clients.
  • Deal Room: A real-time guide through the closing process, including milestones, deadlines and tasks.
  • Redfin Open Book: Reviews of lenders, inspectors and title companies for buyers and handymen, stagers and more with feedback from Redfin agents.
