The Redfin engineering team has been hard at work this year adding new features and updates to our award-winning mobile apps. With mobile devices now driving two thirds of our traffic, we know how important it is to have access to information on the go. That’s why we’ve made it easier to search, share and tour listings from an iPhone, iPad, Android phone & tablet or Apple Watch.
Updates for Both iOS and Android
Draw Your Own Search – Sometimes home searches don’t follow traditional neighborhood or ZIP code boundaries. With Redfin’s Draw Your Own Search, you can outline an area on the map with your finger for a more customized search experience. Once you’ve drawn a search and set additional filters like price, size and type of home, the Redfin app will keep you updated on what’s going on in that area, including Redfin agent Tour Insights. You’ll also get alerts when homes come on the market, drop in price, sell or are about to sell.
Shared Search – Searching for a home most often involves more than one person – many Redfin customers work more closely with our agents on the search for their home than they would a planner for their wedding! Our Shared Search feature allows you to save, share and comment on your favorite homes with your co-buyer, Redfin agent, friends or family.
New Homes for You – You’ll see a list of new homes matching your search criteria and based on your activity on Redfin.com, so you never miss a new home when it goes up for sale.
Updates for iOS
Book It Now – One of our most exciting innovations of 2015 was Book It Now, an on-demand service for seeing homes for sale in person. In the iOS app, customers will now see the option to schedule a tour with suggested showing times and dates alongside each available listing.
Apple Watch App – Redfin was one of the first companies to develop an app for the highly-anticipated Apple Watch launch. In the Redfin App for Apple Watch, you can search homes for sale, sold homes and open houses near your location. Once you’ve added a home to your favorites, the app will send notifications right to your wrist if it drops in price, goes off the market or has an upcoming open house.
Updates for Android
Now Cards – Once you book a tour with a Redfin agent, you can receive helpful Now cards in the Google app the day before the tour. Tap on the Now card to see more information about your tour or get directions to the address.
Design Upgrade – If you’re an Android user, you may have noticed that our app looks and feels a little different. We implemented a major overhaul of our maps and listing pages to match Google’s new styles.
