A listing agent, also known as the seller\u2019s agent, is a real estate agent<\/a> who represents a home seller in a real estate transaction. A listing agent is responsible for assisting their client throughout the <\/span>home selling process<\/span><\/a>, which includes pricing the home, staging the interior and exterior, marketing the property, negotiating offers in the best interest of the seller, and so much more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is a selling agent?<\/span><\/h2>\n

So, what’s the difference between a listing agent vs. selling agent? A selling agent, more commonly known as a buyer\u2019s agent, represents the homebuyer find a house and guide them through the <\/span>process of purchasing a home<\/span><\/a>. However, there is a bit of a title transition that occurs and which can be confusing for any prospective homebuyer, especially if you\u2019re <\/span>buying a home for the first time<\/span><\/a>. The main difference between a listing agent and a selling agent is who they represent – the listing agent represents the home seller, and the selling agent represents the homebuyer. The listing agent and selling agent are paid a commission, which is around 5%\u20136% of the home\u2019s sale price, and evenly split between the buyer\u2019s agent and seller\u2019s agent.
