Here are some important flood zone definitions to understand:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHAs):<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The highest risk flood zones with over a 1% chance of flooding annually. This adds up to a one in four chance of flooding over a 30-year mortgage.
