\u201cAs a self-proclaimed \u2018foodie,\u2019 I highly recommend <\/span>Southside Grill<\/span><\/a>. It\u2019s located in <\/span>South Nashville<\/span><\/a> and is open for dinner seven days a week and brunch on Sundays. The menu is phenomenal, but we have our favorite dishes that we specifically order every time we visit. Top three suggestions: get the grilled octopus for an appetizer – it’s life-changing. For an entr\u00e9e, the Brasserie Chicken on parmesan risotto (absolutely amazing) and the Scottish Salmon is always cooked to perfection.\u201d – <\/span>Woodmont Realty\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Prince\u2019s Hot Chicken\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cThere’s a reason that all the tourists clamor for Nashville Hot Chicken. We often venture to South Nashville to fill up on the original at <\/span>Prince’s Hot Chicken<\/span><\/a>. I can only go mild, but many brave the Extra Hot.\u201d – <\/span>Nesting in Nashville\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

I Dream of Weenie\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cI Dream of Weenie is a go-to local hot dog food truck in <\/span>East Nashville<\/span><\/a>. These are not your average hot dogs but are available with toppings like macaroni and cheese and hash browns. Customers can sit on picnic tables near the food trucks. Veggie dogs are also available.\u201d – <\/span>The Nashville Mom<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

The Southern Steak & Oyster<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cIf you ask a local Nashvillian for their recommendation for <\/span>dining in downtown Nashville<\/span><\/a> – The Southern Steak & Oyster is top of mind. The BBQ Shrimp has a sauce so good that you’ll want to arm wrestle anyone who tries to take the plate away before you’ve sopped everything up with one of the cheddar and scallion biscuits. The deliciously smokey Baby Back Ribs are so tender they fall off the bone, and you can eat them with a fork. The Southern is as true to Nashville as you can get. After ten years of business, it’s watched the city grow up around it and remains a favorite to locals and tourists alike.\u201d – <\/span>The Southern\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Butcher and Bee\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cOne of my favorite places in Nashville is <\/span>Butcher and Bee<\/span><\/a>. Their menu is seasonal, creative, so flavorful, and never disappoints. Their hidden gem food item is whipped feta which was once described to me as “the reason I get out of bed in the morning,” and I was delighted to learn that was an extraordinarily accurate statement.\u201d –<\/span> Marsh House<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Loveless Cafe\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201c<\/span>The Loveless Cafe<\/span><\/a> in Nashville bills itself as “classic Southern food.” The menu features country ham, pork chops, and the best fried chicken you’ve ever had. (When I asked our waitress if the fried chicken was good, she looked at me like I was crazy). Accompanying every meal is two side dishes. Your choice includes favorites such as turnip greens, fried okra, sweet potatoes, and the delicious Loveless biscuits. I ate four of them.\u201d – <\/span>Travel Past 50<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Monells\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cLocated in a <\/span>Victorian house<\/span><\/a> in Nashville’s historic <\/span>Germantown<\/span><\/a>, this is where you need to go for all-you-can-eat Southern comfort food breakfast, lunch, and dinner served family-style. As <\/span>Monells<\/span><\/a> says, \u201center as strangers, leave as friends.\u201d It might have something to do with the biscuits, chicken, and cheese grits. Frothy\u2019s full-service cafe serves breakfast through dinner, beer and wine, and their own locally roasted coffee. Two Ten Jack & Emmy Squared\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cWhen it comes to restaurants, I will almost always recommend <\/span>Two Ten Jack<\/span><\/a> in East Nashville. You can’t go wrong with any of their unique Japanese-inspired dishes or perfectly curated cocktail menu. But if you want an insider tip on a hidden Music City gem, it’s the Le Big Matt burger at <\/span>Emmy Squared<\/span><\/a> – locations in Germantown, The Gulch, and Green Hills. Emmy Squared is known for its delicious take on Detroit-style pizza. Still, the burger will leave a long-lasting impression.\u201d – <\/span>Listen! It’s Vetrano\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Kitchen Notes\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cExperience farm-fresh, traditional southern dishes located just a couple of blocks from the heart of Music City. Take a journey back to your grandmother\u2019s kitchen with homemade biscuits, and family recipes passed down for generations. You’re greeted by the friendly staff and the smell of amazing Indian spices when you walk in. This Southern Indian restaurant has plenty of vegetarian options that convert any carnivore. Not to be missed are the Dosas – a crepe made from lentils and rice. Also, the Egg Podimas, an egg scramble with masala. If you’re into spicy food, remember that hot means hot. The vibe is quirky. You’ll hear live jazz, 70’s and 80’s music, and always leave having made a new friend, whether that’s with the next table over or the owner who often greets guests.\u201d – <\/span>Julie Hullet Concierge<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Hampton Social, Pinewood Social, and Adele\u2019s<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cNashville has several great foodie spots, so it’s difficult to pin down just one. One of my favorites has to be <\/span>Hampton Social<\/span><\/a> – I just love the bright, airy decor and Instagram-worthy flower wall. I’d recommend <\/span>Pinewood Social<\/span><\/a> for brunch, which features a bowling alley and serves yummy breakfast items such as br\u00fbl\u00e9ed grapefruit and avocado toast. And for New American fare, check out <\/span>Adele’s<\/span><\/a>, a farm-to-table restaurant serving innovative dishes made with fresh ingredients.\u201d – <\/span>Pommie Travels\u00a0<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Arnolds After Dark<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201c<\/span>Arnolds<\/span><\/a> isn\u2019t a hidden gem, but their pandemic shift to their late-night offerings still is. Get some amazing specials like their hanger steak on galena cheese grits or smoked and flash-fried BBQ chicken. \u201cIf you’re looking for a neighborhood bar with a backyard feel that serves some of the best pizza in town, look no further than <\/span>Public House<\/span><\/a>. This spot attached to the boutique hotel Urban Cowboy is filled with locals sitting around bonfires in the winter and under the shaded trees in summer. The perfect late afternoon cocktail with a delicious salad and shared a wood-fired pizza.\u201d – <\/span>MC Squared Luxury<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Baja Burrito\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cOne of the best-hidden gems in Nashville is <\/span>Baja Burrito<\/span><\/a>, an independently owned Mexican taco and burrito shop that\u2019s truly unique to Nashville and a great restaurant to enjoy if you\u2019re coming to visit Nashville or are a Nashville local. It’s quality, delectable food, and a great experience for casual dining. The bright, colorful Latin-American-inspired murals are fascinating and depict a story of the rich history of this restaurant over the years. Baja Burrito is just the pick-me-up you need before heading off to explore the Grand Ole Opry or the iconic Opryland Hotel. It looks just like Homer’s go-to snack).
