5. Fun and views by the Delaware River<\/span><\/h2>\n

\u201cOur favorite winter activity in Philadelphia is the <\/span>Independence Blue Cross Riverrink Winterfest<\/span><\/a>,\u201d says Monique West, Owner and Blogger of <\/span>Traveling the West Way<\/span><\/a>. \u201cThis event is beautifully situated along the Delaware River. There’s fun activities for everyone including ice skating, rides and games. \u201cAn interesting place that is located just north of the city in Lahaska, that holds many winter events in the <\/span>Peddlers Village<\/span><\/a>,\u201d Suggests Allie from <\/span>Northeast Allie<\/span><\/a>. \u201cThis unique place has a very whimsical feel to it with a variety of cute shops, restaurants, and a multitude of fun activities. Some of their festivals that they hold this time of year include Fire & Frost Fun, Dueling Pianos and Desserts, Village of Chocolate, and even their spectacular Comedy In The Village. It is the perfect place to enjoy winter festivities.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

10. Eat through the indoor Reading Terminal Market<\/span><\/h2>\n

“During the winter time, I love getting to wander through the aisles of <\/span>Reading Terminal Market<\/span><\/a> and let my cravings for the huge variety of food run wild when in Philadelphia,\u201d shares Kate Thompson from <\/span>The Pink Chickadee<\/span><\/a>. \u201cReading Terminal Market offers delicious and diverse cheap eats alongside fine goods to take home, too. With its proximity to many of Philadelphia’s major sites in Center City, I love getting to stroll through Philadelphia City Hall and LOVE Park without the crowds.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

11. Visit the waterfront<\/span><\/h2>\n

\u201cThe waterfront area has developed so much over the last ten years, and though it explodes and comes to life every summer as people flock to the water, it is often neglected in the winter,\u201d says Liz Boleslavsky from <\/span>Fringe Bar<\/span><\/a>. \u201cThere are so many fun activities to still do on the waterfront in the winter. <\/span>Winterfest<\/span><\/a> is a great example of how the waterfront transforms for the season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fringe Bar itself gets very cozy in the winter, and it\u2019s so nice to come here and play quizzo on Wednesdays. Anything with a fire-pit and a view, and boozy hot chocolate has my name on it. I think it\u2019s just really great to see how different spaces get activated and how they engage guests in the times where people mostly stay indoors.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

12. Go to the zoo<\/span><\/h2>\n

Artist and Event Producer, Stacey Wilson from <\/span>Flygirrl<\/span><\/a> recommends, \u201cOne of my favorite winter activities in Philly is to make a big thermos of some hot tea or coffee and go to the <\/span>Philadelphia Zoo<\/span><\/a> for their always unique, annual winter exhibit. It’s always fun to walk around for the day and visit the beautiful animals but you also get to experience an exhibit which currently happens to be Trolls: Save The Humans. They are enormous and made from repurposed wood. Its mission is to inspire humans to take better care of Nature. It kicks off in February and I can’t wait to go see them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

15. Enjoy the nightlife<\/span><\/h2>\n

There are so many places to enjoy Philly\u2019s nightlife, like the <\/span>Assembly Rooftop Lounge<\/span><\/a> at The Logan, bowling at <\/span>Lucky Strike<\/span><\/a>, and speakeasies like <\/span>Hop Sing Laundromat<\/span><\/a>,\u201d says Michael Chapaloney, Executive Director of <\/span>Pennsylvania Tourism<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

16. Go to LOVE Park for the holidays<\/span><\/h2>\n

“A magical place I love to explore during the winter in Philadelphia is the <\/span>Christmas Village<\/span><\/a> at LOVE Park, which is known as a holiday market inspired by traditional German Christmas markets,\u201d shares Grace Loemba Ndllo, Owner of\u00a0 <\/span>Everlasting Weddings By Grace<\/span><\/a>. \u201cMy husband and I enjoy taking our two kids there to enjoy the carousel. You can also find crafted holiday gifts, ornaments, and delicious homemade treats.<\/span><\/p>\n

For couples who want to enjoy winter in Philadelphia, the Christmas Village is also a nice place for couples to enjoy a winter date night, and a couple of blocks away couples who are more into sports can find the Blue Cross River Rink.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

17. Ice skating Dilworth Park<\/h2>\n

\u201cBraving the cold is worth it for the outdoor activities in Center City\u2019s parks. Ice skating in Dilworth Park is a holiday favorite when you\u2019re surrounded by the merry festivities of the Christmas Village at Love Park and City Hall,\u201d says Michael Chapaloney, Executive Director of Pennsylvania Tourism. \u201cAnother festive favorite is Franklin Square, which is decked out with twinkling lights, a carousel, and even a mini golf course.\u201d<\/p>\n

18. Parkway Museum District<\/h2>\n

\u201cPhilly is full of cultural hotspots, museums, and world-renowned institutions, with the Parkway Museum District at the heart of it all. The Barnes Foundation is a must-visit stop on the Parkway. The museum\u2019s impressive collection has works from famous artists like Picasso, Matisse, and Renoir, and special installations from artists across the globe,\u201d says Michael Chapaloney. \u201cIf you\u2019re looking for a museum to visit with the kids or kids-at-heart, The Franklin Institute is one of the oldest science museums in the US, and it continues to excite visitors with new and interactive exhibits.\u201d<\/p>\n
