Today Redfin announces the launch of our two newest markets, Tampa<\/a> and Orlando<\/a>! It’s been less than a year since we brought our unique technology and first-class service to South Florida<\/a>, and we’re thrilled to now help buyers and sellers in five major Florida cities, including Miami<\/a>, West Palm Beach<\/a> and Fort Lauderdale<\/a>!<\/p>\n

So why is Redfin so focused on the Sunshine State? Since our launch in sunny South Florida, it has become one of our fastest growing markets, and we see the same potential for rapid growth in Tampa and Orlando. We also know that these two cities have an appetite for strong customer service and a different way of doing business. Our arrival in Tampa and Orlando means that our unique technology and first-class service are now available in 25 markets across the country.<\/p>\n

Redfin is the only brokerage in Tampa and Orlando with agents who are paid a salary and receive benefits. Redfin hired real estate agent Wendy Peterson<\/a> to drive the Redfin business in Tampa. She spent 18 years in the insurance industry, most recently as corporate director at MetLife Auto & Home, before changing careers and becoming a real estate agent five years ago. Her new role at Redfin will put to use the vast knowledge of business and legal transactions that she gained from her time in the insurance world, as well as her customer service skills and real estate expertise. Floridians can work with Wendy to buy or sell a home in Hillsborough<\/a>, Pinellas<\/a> and Pasco<\/a> counties in the Tampa area.<\/p>\n

Real estate agent MaryDell Rose<\/a> joins Redfin to spearhead our operation in Orlando. She previously held leadership roles at Exit Realty Metro, Jenny Craig and a litigation support company in California. MaryDell also has 13 years of experience working in Orlando real estate. Most recently, she transitioned to an agent training and mentoring role for a traditional brokerage before joining Redfin. Homebuyers and sellers can now work with MaryDell in Orange<\/a>, Seminole<\/a>, Osceola<\/a> and Lake<\/a> counties in the greater Orlando area.<\/p>\n

Whether buying or selling a home in the area, Redfin clients can save thousands of dollars. In Tampa and Orlando, someone buying a $300,000 home would receive a refund of $2,000. Someone selling a $300,000 home would save $4,500 in fees. Our technology helps us make the real estate process more efficient, and we pass the savings on to our clients.<\/p>\n
