Hover over a circle to see the number of jobs a company is adding in that particular area (the bigger the circle, the more jobs), along with sale price and migration information for the metro. To view just one company from the list, type its name in the \u201cHighlight Companies\u201d box. For companies adding &#8220;hundreds&#8221; of jobs to a certain metro area, we used the number 300 on the map as an estimation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many of the metros shown are already popular destinations for Redfin.com home searchers looking to move to a different area. Four of the metros<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/30756\/GA\/Atlanta\">Atlanta<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/30772\/OR\/Portland\">Portland<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/16163\/WA\/Seattle\">Seattle<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/30818\/TX\/Austin\">Austin<\/a><\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">where major tech companies are adding a significant amount of jobs were among the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/blog\/2019\/01\/q4-redfin-migration-report-seattle-reclaims-migration-destination-status.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">most popular destinations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the fourth quarter of 2018. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For instance, 29.3 percent of Redfin users searching for homes in Austin, where Apple is building a massive new campus, were from outside the area. Homebuyer interest in the Austin area has accelerated since Apple announced in December it\u2019s building a campus with room for up to 15,000 employees and reports emerged in January that Google could add 5,000 employees to the area. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSince mid-February, the market in Austin has really picked up and now it\u2019s moving in full swing. We\u2019ve been seeing multiple offers on almost every single listing,\u201d Vallejo said. \u201cThat\u2019s especially true in areas near tech company expansions like <a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/neighborhood\/164521\/TX\/Austin\/North-Austin\">North Austin<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/neighborhood\/351579\/TX\/Austin\/East-Austin\">East Austin<\/a>, which are experiencing increased interest from homebuyers and a rise in prices. Just this past month, I had two investors go under contract on homes near the new Apple campus.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In <a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/13415\/TN\/Nashville\">Nashville<\/a>, where Amazon is opening a new 5,000-person office, local Redfin agent <a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/real-estate-agents\/scott-mosley\">Scott Mosley<\/a> said homebuyers are even more serious about Music City now that the tech giant has cancelled plans to open a massive <a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/30749\/NY\/New-York\">New York City<\/a> campus. \u201cI\u2019ve already had investors call to inquire about buying properties near the Amazon campus, and I expect the market to get hotter and hotter as it gets closer to opening. I expect prices to tick up,\u201d Mosley said. \u201cI also think Amazon\u2019s forthcoming office will inspire other tech companies to move into Nashville, and that will contribute to interest in the market.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amazon\u2019s hometown of Seattle is worth paying attention to: Amazon is opening major new offices in <a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/zipcode\/22202\">Crystal City<\/a> and Nashville, the latter of which has a median sale price of $279,000 compared to $547,000 in the Seattle area. But Seattle is also <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/blog\/amazon-impact-bellevue-real-estate\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">welcoming thousands of new jobs from Bay Area companies<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as Facebook and Google. In late 2018 it recaptured its place on the list of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/blog\/2019\/01\/q4-redfin-migration-report-seattle-reclaims-migration-destination-status.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">most popular migration destinations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> after two quarters during which more people were looking to leave Seattle than move in. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The list below features the same selection of companies and metro areas as the interactive map above, but with more information on the corporate moves. All migration and home-price data is based on metro areas. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/30756\/GA\/Atlanta\"><b>Atlanta, GA<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Companies<\/strong>: Pandora &amp; Square<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Details<\/strong>: Music streaming company Pandora turned Atlanta into its <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/atlanta.curbed.com\/2018\/8\/28\/17790330\/pandora-apple-spotify-midtown-campanile-tower\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">southeastern headquarters<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> last year, and online payments business Square <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/atlanta\/news\/2018\/04\/25\/san-francisco-tech-firm-square-plans-expansion-in.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">also leased new office space<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the city.
