See what else Wilson could afford. <\/span><\/i><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once his <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/26535311\/seahawks-make-wilson-top-paid-nfl\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">record-breaking contract<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is paid out, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson could hypothetically afford to purchase every home for sale in his <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/neighborhood\/2578\/WA\/Bellevue\/West-Bellevue\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">West Bellevue<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> neighborhood in cash<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">with $120 million left over. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wilson <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/sports\/seahawks\/seahawks-russell-wilson-buys-67-million-waterfront-mansion-in-bellevue-report-says\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reportedly<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> purchased <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/WA\/Bellevue\/905-Shoreland-Dr-SE-98004\/home\/253569\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this estate<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, located on the shores of Lake Washington in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/16163\/WA\/Seattle\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seattle<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> suburb, for $6.7 million in 2015. With more than 10,000 square feet, the 7-bedroom, 6.75-bathroom home seems to have plenty of room for Wilson, his wife, Ciara, and their family. But if the family is looking to expand their real estate portfolio now that Wilson is the highest-paid player in NFL history, we have some ideas. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wilson\u2019s $140 million four-year contract extension, plus a $65 million signing bonus, will add $205 million to his bank account if all goes according to plan. If Wilson used all $205 million to take a very expensive walk down memory lane, he would be able to buy:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All 33 homes for sale in West Bellevue, the neighborhood where Wilson currently lives with his family, for $84.8 million.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All 17 homes for sale in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/neighborhood\/11429\/WA\/Seattle\/Pioneer-Square\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pioneer Square<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Seattle neighborhood where the Seahawks play their home games at CenturyLink Field, for $13.7 million. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More than one-quarter of the least expensive homes for sale<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">477 homes<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the city of Seattle for $204.8 million.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The top 2% of homes for sale by list price<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">35 homes<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><span 400;\">Richmond, Virginia<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where Wilson grew up and attended high school. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The top 29% of homes for sale by list price<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">256 homes<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in Richmond, for $204.9 million. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nearly 60% of the least expensive homes for sale<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1,003 homes<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for $204.9 million in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/3879\/OH\/Cincinnati\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cincinnati<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, where Wilson was born. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The top 10% of homes for sale by list price<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">156 homes<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in Cincinnati for $204.6 million. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The analysis above is based on the assumption that Wilson would hypothetically pay for the homes in all cash. <\/span><br \/>\n<b>Methodology<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this report, we used reports of Russell Wilson\u2019s new contract extension, which totals $205 million, to determine how many homes he would hypothetically be able to buy once the contract is paid out. We looked at all of the active listings for condos, townhouses and single-family homes in the cities of Bellevue, Seattle, Renton, Madison, Richmond and Cincinnati. Then, we took the value of Wilson\u2019s contract extension and created a running total of list prices in each of those cities until the $205 million was exhausted.
