The following is a select list of cities among the nearly 3,000 the lottery winner would be able to purchase with their winnings. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All 534 homes for sale in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/538\/NJ\/Atlantic-City\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Atlantic City, NJ<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, arguably the casino capital of the East Coast, for $120.9 million\u2014and they\u2019d still have more than $100 million left over. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All 1,267 homes for sale in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/4145\/OH\/Cleveland\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cleveland, OH<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for $214.4 million. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All 1,078 homes for sale in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/7928\/WI\/Green-Bay\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Green Bay, WI<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for $246 million, with more than enough money left over for tickets to see the Packers. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All 1,089 homes for sale in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/7163\/NE\/Lincoln\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lincoln, NE<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the capital of the Cornhusker State, for $261.4 million. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All 1,093 homes for sale in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/35759\/WI\/Milwaukee\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Milwaukee, WI<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for $214.8 million, with more than $30 million left over. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All 2,708 homes for sale in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/12742\/FL\/North-Port\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">North Port, FL<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a city in Sarasota County, for $261 million. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All 189 homes for sale in beautiful <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/17464\/CA\/San-Luis-Obispo\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">San Luis Obispo, CA<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for $197.1 million. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All 536 homes for sale in <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/city\/17887\/WA\/Tacoma\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tacoma, WA<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014one of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/blog\/hot-housing-market-tacoma\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nation\u2019s hottest housing markets<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> this spring\u2014for $259.1 million. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Back in April, Manuel Franco of West Allis, Wisconsin won $326 million in a Powerball drawing. At that time, we put together a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/redfin.com\/blog\/how-many-homes-powerball-winner-could-buy\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">list of some of the cities in his home state<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Franco would have been able to purchase with his winnings, which also happened to include Green Bay and Milwaukee. <\/span><br \/>\n<b>Methodology<\/b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this report, we used reports of the current Mega Millions jackpot, which would total $261.4 million after taxes if the winner chooses the lump sum, to determine how many homes the winner would hypothetically be able to buy once the contract is paid out. We looked at all the active listings for condos, townhouses and single-family homes in cities around the U.S. to determine which cities in which the winner would be able to purchase every single home
