Most of April\u2019s most expensive home sales were in beachfront Florida, with a pair of Beverly Hills estates and two luxury Manhattan condos rounding out the top 10.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

A trio of neighboring properties in Naples, FL, made up three of April\u2019s most expensive home sales, including <\/span>the <\/span><\/i>most expensive: a <\/span>beachfront estate<\/span><\/a> that went for $133 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, six of last month\u2019s most expensive home sales were in coastal Florida, and two were in Beverly Hills, CA. A pair of luxury Manhattan condos, both on Billionaires\u2019 Row, round out the top 10.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Half of April\u2019s highest-priced home sales clocked in at more than $50 million, and all fetched $40 million or more. Waterfront Florida is typically home to the lion\u2019s share of ultra-expensive home sales despite increasing risk of climate-driven disasters, such as hurricanes. The ultra-wealthy buyers of these homes <\/span>typically<\/span><\/a> have enough money in the bank to renovate or rebuild if need be.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Today\u2019s Most Expensive Home Listings<\/span><\/h3>\n

     <\/p>\n

    We also took a look at the most expensive <\/span>listings <\/span><\/i>on the market today. All are listed at more than $135 million, and the two most expensive are asking more than $200 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    There\u2019s a gap between the sale prices in the section above and the list prices in this section because ultra-luxury homes typically sell for much less than their asking price. Ultra-high-end listings are often priced high because prestige pricing can attract luxury buyers and generate media buzz. Plus, there tend to be very few comps in this price range, and sellers of extremely expensive homes often expect a lot of negotiation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Half of April\u2019s most expensive homes for sale were in Southern California, four were in coastal Florida, and one was in Lake Tahoe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Nearly all of the listings remain the same as the last time we published this ranking because ultra-luxury homes typically take a long time to sell. The typical U.S. home listing goes under contract in <\/span>47 days<\/span><\/a>; nine of the 10 listings in this ranking have been on the market for longer than that, and six of them have been listed for over 100 days.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
