Four of last month\u2019s 10 most expensive home sales were in Southern California, five were in coastal Florida and one was on Martha\u2019s Vineyard.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

A <\/span>Los Angeles estate<\/span><\/a> known as the \u201cSpelling Manor,\u201d after its former owner\u2013producer Aaron Spelling\u2013was the most expensive home sale of July, bringing in $110 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The next-most expensive sale was a <\/span>beachfront compound<\/span><\/a> in Delray Beach, FL, which fetched roughly $51 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, four of last month\u2019s 10 most expensive home sales were in Southern California, five were in coastal Florida, and one was a <\/span>Martha\u2019s Vineyard compound<\/span><\/a> that was once President Obama\u2019s summer residence.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Four of the homes sold for $40 million or more, and all sold for more than $29 million. Coastal parts of Florida are typically home to many ultra-expensive home sales in any given month. Despite the increasing risk of climate disasters and skyrocketing insurance costs in those places, mega-wealthy homebuyers have the means to rebuild, repair, or take a loss.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These are the most expensive U.S. home sales of July:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  2. 2325 S. Ocean Blvd., Delray Beach, FL 33483<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $51.1 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. 29130 Cliffside Dr., Malibu, CA 90265<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $49.8 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. 555 Reinante Ave., Coral Gables, FL 33156<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $40 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. 9001 Collins Ave. Unit S-PH2, Surfside, FL 33154<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $38.2 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. 41 Cobbs Hill Road, Chilmark, MA 02535<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $37 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. 370 S. Hibiscus Dr., Miami Beach, FL 33139<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $31.8 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. 28808 Cliffside Dr., Malibu, CA 90265<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $30.5 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. 845 Longboat Club Rd., Longboat Key, FL 34228<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $30.3 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. 1680 N. Doheny Dr., Los Angeles, CA 90069<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $29.5 million<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    We also took a look at the most expensive home sales of the year so far. The top sale of July, Spelling Manor, made the list, coming in at number two behind a sprawling <\/span>beachfront property<\/span><\/a> in Naples, FL.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    5. 4823 Kahala Ave., Honolulu, HI 96816<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $65.8 million in March<\/span><\/li>\n
