Four of last month\u2019s most expensive sales were in coastal Florida, and one was a Beverly Hills estate previously home to billionaire real estate developer Rick Caruso.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

A <\/span>Beverly Hills estate<\/span><\/a> previously owned by billionaire real estate magnate and 2022 Los Angeles mayoral candidate <\/span>Rick Caruso<\/span><\/a> was the most expensive home sale of August, fetching $48 million. It\u2019s followed by a <\/span>new-construction mansion<\/span><\/a> in Greenwich, CT, which fetched $44 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Also among last month\u2019s most expensive sales: a <\/span>coastal compound<\/span><\/a> in Miami Beach <\/span>previously owned by<\/span><\/a> Rosie O\u2019Donnell, and an <\/span>oceanfront Kauai property<\/span><\/a> that Julia Roberts <\/span>once called home<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, Florida was home to four of August\u2019s 10 most expensive home sales. The remaining six were each in a different state: California, Connecticut, Illinois, Hawaii, Nevada and New York. The top two sold for over $40 million, and all 10 sold for over $25 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Coastal Florida typically has many ultra-expensive home sales in any given month. Despite the increasing risk of climate disasters and skyrocketing insurance costs, mega-wealthy homebuyers often have the means to rebuild, repair, or take a loss.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

These are the most expensive U.S. home sales of August:<\/b><\/p>\n

  3. 1013 Lakeshore Blvd., Incline Village, NV 89451<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $37.5 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. 43 Star Island Dr., Miami Beach, FL 33139<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $36 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. 33 Arvida Pkwy, Coral Gables, FL 33156<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $34 million\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. 109 E. 79th St., Unit 16, New York, NY 10075<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $33 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. 68 La Gorce Circle, Miami Beach, FL 33141<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $32.7 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. 419 Sheridan Rd., Winnetka, IL 60093<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $31.3 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. 1200 S. Ocean Blvd., Manapapan, FL 33462<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $28 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. 5-8192 Kuhio Hwy, Hanalei, HI 96714<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $27.6 million<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    We also took a look at the most expensive home sales of the year so far. None of August\u2019s sales made the list; the priciest sale so far in 2025 is <\/span>this beachfront compound<\/span><\/a> in Naples, FL.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
