California compounds and Colorado ski houses made up the lion\u2019s share of September\u2019s most expensive home sales.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Green Gables estate<\/span><\/a> in the Bay Area, which consists of seven houses on <\/span>74 acres<\/span><\/a>, was the most expensive home sale of September, bringing in $85 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s followed by an <\/span>Aspen, CO property<\/span><\/a> that sold for $58.3 million. Next comes a multi-property sale in Montecito, CA, consisting of an <\/span>estate<\/span><\/a> previously <\/span>owned<\/span><\/a> by Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi and a <\/span>3-acre lot<\/span><\/a>, which brought in $55 million total.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, four of September\u2019s most expensive sales were in California, and three were in Colorado ski towns. Two were in New York\u2013one in the Hamptons and one in Manhattan\u2013and one was in Palm Beach, FL. The top three sold for more than $50 million, and all 10 sold for more than $30 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  3. 319 San Ysidro Rd.<\/span><\/a> & <\/span>289 San Ysidro Rd., Montecito, CA 93108<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $55 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. 6026 Camino De La Costa, La Jolla, CA 92037<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $47 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. 11740 Crescenda St., Los Angeles, CA 90049<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $44 million\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. 395 E. Reds Rd., Aspen, CO 81611<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $37.8 million\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. 1214 N. Ocean Blvd., Palm Beach, FL 33480<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $37 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. 825 5th Ave. Unit 15 FLR, New York City, NY 10065<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $33.7 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. 344 Beaver Dam Rd., Vail, CO 81657<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $32.2 million<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. 33 Lily Pond Ln., East Hampton, NY 11937<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $31.5 million\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    We also took a look at the most expensive home sales of the year. The top September sale, the <\/span>Woodside, CA compound<\/span><\/a>, broke onto the list at number four.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    3. 630 Nimes Rd., Los Angeles, CA 90077<\/span><\/a>: Sold for $110 million in May<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. 329 Albion Ave., Woodside, CA 94062<\/span><\/a>: <\/span>Sold for $85 million in September<\/b><\/li>\n
