The RHPI measures how sale prices of homes have changed since their previous sale\u2014similar to the S&amp;P Cotality Case-Shiller Home Price Indices\u2014but is reported about a month earlier. November data covers the three months ending Nov. 30, 2025. Elevated mortgage rates and widespread economic uncertainty\u2013including concerns about <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.redfin.com\/news\/survey-tariffs-major-purchase\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tariffs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and job <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.redfin.com\/news\/survey-job-security-2025\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">security<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013have pushed buyers to the sidelines. But prices are still rising, not falling, because many prospective home sellers have <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.redfin.com\/news\/housing-market-update-housing-supply-tightens-new-listings-decline\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">started pulling back<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, too.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHome-price growth is cooling as the calendar turns to winter, but prices are still rising and they\u2019re still too high for many house hunters,\u201d said <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.redfin.com\/news\/author\/chen-zhao\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chen Zhao<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Redfin\u2019s head of economics research. \u201cStill, we\u2019re in the midst of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.redfin.com\/news\/buyers-vs-sellers-october-2025\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">strongest buyer\u2019s market<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a decade; even though prices remain high, buyers have a chance to negotiate with sellers and get some concessions. The other bright spot for buyers: We expect wages to grow faster than home prices <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.redfin.com\/news\/housing-market-predictions-2026\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in 2026<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, improving affordability and perhaps thawing the housing market.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Home prices are falling in 11 major metro areas<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\nHome prices fell in 11 major U.S. metros month over month on a seasonally adjusted basis in November. Redfin analyzed the 50 most populous metro areas and included in this analysis the 47 with sufficient data.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The biggest declines were in Charlotte, NC (-0.9%), Austin, TX (-0.6%) and Cincinnati (-0.6%). The biggest increases were in Pittsburgh (2.3%), Montgomery County, PA (1.6%) and Chicago (1.3%).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The biggest <i>year-over-year <\/i>price gains were in Chicago (11%), Pittsburgh (10.1%) and New York (9.5%).
