If you prefer short, succinct reviews, here's the bottom line... Hire Joké and Genesis Home Staging if you have the opportunity to do so.
If you are selling a property, there are three questions you should ask:
1. Do I need to stage it?
2. Can I stage it myself?
3. If I'm hiring a stager, should it be Genesis Home Staging?
1) Yes, in almost all cases, you should stage the property for sale. Unless it's gonna be a teardown, staging will almost certainly pay for itself in a higher closing price. Even if it doesn't increase your net (which a well-staged property will), staging will draw more eyes to your property and result in a quicker sale. Smart staging improves the likelihood of a strong sale.
2) Even if you've got a great design sense and appropriate furnishings available, a professional with an unbiased set of eyes will stage the property better than you would. I only had 18 days to get a townhouse from my father's Trust onto the market and my backup plan was to stage it myself if necessary. Fortunately for all concerned, Joké saved me that effort and did a phenomenal job despite my unreasonable timeframe.
3) Put very simply, it was a joy to work with Joké. Her design sense was spot on, yet she was open to my input and left me feeling as if we'd had a successful collaboration. From providing a handyman referral to advice on paint color(s) and cost-effective upgrades, having her as part of my team was truly a blessing. Although my timetable was probably crazed and I encountered the typical unexpected challenges, Joké worked within my needs and supported me to keep the project on track. Our communication was awesome, pricing reasonable, and everything Joké touched left me thrilled. There are instances where you say "at least the results were worth it," but in this case, the results felt like a bonus. In the midst of a stressful process, it was wonderful and calming to work with Joké.
If you are selling a property and have the opportunity to do so, my recommendation is to hire Joké and Genesis Home Staging.
