Michelle is absolutely fabulous. We worked with her for more than 2 years. Yes, believe it or not, we've been looking for a house for 2 years since the pandemic began. We had a lot of offers pending on houses, some of them got accepted, some of them got renegotiated. Michelle was with us all the way, gentle and kind. Comforting us when we lost crazy bid wars, or when we decided to pull out of a deal with a house that needed way too much attention (based on the inspections). We finally closed a deal, and we're extremely happy with the house. So happy that it's totally worth the 2 year journey. Michelle took us through what turned out to be an unexpectedly complicated transaction. As first-time homebuyers, we had intentionally avoided short-sale transactions throughout our search process on Redfin and finally submitted a bid on a property that was listed as a standard sale. Our offer was countered with a significantly higher price or else turn the transaction into a short sale. So, since we already were interested in the house at that point, we went ahead and submitted our counter offer as a short sale transaction. We had some challenging times due to the market conditions and the economy. Though it took longer for my home to sell thank I had hoped (coincidentally on the last Open House) Michelle remained positive and willing to hold as many open houses as needed. She also was able to provide an extra marketing boost to blast the internet on several occassions. The buyers found the house due to an ad placed on the local paper, which seems to be more prevalent in the area where my home was located. Overall, I am very pleased and found Michelle effective and communicated very well, especially during the final negotiation and closing. I would be remiss to not mention the tremendous job Barbara Bailey did on the many open houses she hosted. Thanks to the Redfin team!

There are many positives and many negatives working with Redfin. Like many other Redfin users, I was drawn to the Redfin rebate with the slightly condescending attitude that traditional real estate agents really did not do much except unlock the doors to homes. We didn't really get any hand-holding in regards to making an offer, but it was worth it to avoid the hard sell tactics you get with most real estate agents. Michelle was generally pretty responsive to our needs. We had a pretty tough seller -- competitive bid where the seller was slow to make a decision, followed by dealing with a really bad escrow company, but we managed to get the whole thing closed within 30 days thanks to Michelle.
