What I really liked was on her first visit to the property her eyes and ears conveyed good and negative selling points on the property. She noticed the freeway noise which is something we have learned to drown out. Things like that make us more aware of the buyers view point. Sold in one day!

Excellent experience with Redfin and Tamara Markey. We have owned 9 homes over the years working with many Realtors on both the buying and selling side. Redfin was excellent in promoting our home, providing beautiful pictures, 3D online tour and brochures. The Redfin dashboard feature that helped keep us on task with important updates.. Any questions were quickly addressed and the closing went smoothly. We sold our home quickly and for over list price. The listing fee was much less than a traditional realtor, but feel the service was comprable. Yes, we would use Redfin again!

i've bought/sold three homes in my lifetime and I've learned that no real estate transaction goes perfectly as planned. When you run into snags along the way, you want an agent who is experienced to represent your best interests. When I realized the Buyer I selected was going to be difficult, I found comfort in knowing Tamara was in my corner.

I would have to admit that I was a bit skeptical of the Redfin process in the beginning. Wasn't sure I would receive the same level service as I would from a traditional broker. I'd been touring with Redfin off and on for 2 years, and I only met Tamara after I'd attempted to make an offer... an offer which she was very reluctant to make. I never felt like Tamara took time to really find out what we were looking for and she never gave us comps to figure out what to offer or even tried to negotiate on our behalf. It was a very disappointing experience. But it was not all her fault. I think the Redfin model is to blame. They force the agents to close so many deals per month they are spread really thin. They are constantly juggling 30-50 deals per month which never ever gives them the time to put in effort for any individual client. I felt this model was incredibly impersonal, unprofessional, and unkind. I would never recommend a buyer to choose Redfin. Perhaps some agents can pull it off, but I seriously doubt clients' needs are served with this volume of business.

We decided to use Redfin because we figured we could find our own property and benefit from getting half of the buyer's commission refunded to us. We made a huge mistake. To sum it up, other than the day we got our keys, Tamara never made the effort to meet us, visit any of the properties that we put offers in, or actually read our contract. Despite a very very VERY long process that dragged on for months due to a very muddled government HAP program, Tamara or her assistant were always there to answer any and all questions. I honestly believe that without her help I would probably spend several more months waiting for my house to close. Anyway, she responded to all questions very promptly and would always go out of her way to alleviate any concerns I might have. The fact that I saved so much money using Redfin is sort of silly to me since I couldn't have asked for a better agent. I thought she was great during the paperwork process... once the deal was made the entire redfin team was outstanding. When brokering the deal I think she could have been more aggressive. I think more care could have been taken when providing comps. The house is near a busy street and VERY close to the airplane boundary. The home should have been compared in price to other houses with similar noise problems. I do not fault Tamara for this, I think it's the nature of the redfin system since she does not visit the properties and would have been avoided if we were living in the area. Working with Tamara was extremely pleasant and I plan to use her again!

My experience with Tamara was generally positive. Tamara's pros were that she was timely (emails and calls were always promptly returned), informative as to how far along in the process we were, pleasant to work with, and very knowledgeable about real estate. I was not however impressed with the thoroughness of Tamara's responses to my questions. If I sent an email with four specific questions, Tamara sometimes would answer only two of them, thus causing me to re-ask the same questions later and leaving me wondering the answers in the meantime. As a first time home buyer in the internet age why would you use an old school agent? Working with Tamara was easy and seamless. When I called she answered. When I e-mailed she responded. Very pleasant to work with. I will admit that working through the negotiation process can be a little more difficult. Just make sure you hold your cards close to your vest.
