R3
Single-family District
The R-3 single-family district is established in order to provide an appropriate district for existing developed areas occupied by smaller scale single-family housing while at the same time maintaining reasonable standards of light, air and similar amenities for living. This section applies to such district. It is intended that this district be utilized for new construction only within the existing urban area and especially for infill development. Within the R-3 district, all buildings, structures or uses having commercial characteristics shall be excluded whether operated for a profit or otherwise. Accessory uses, conditional uses and home occupations specifically provided for in this chapter, however, shall be allowed provided they do not have objectionable characteristics and provided further that they otherwise conform to the provisions of this chapter.
