Zoning
R-3
Medium Density Residential District
This article of the Zoning Ordinance is intended to provide areas within the city for living environments that include primarily multifamily housing units, such as garden apartments and condominiums. The unit size regulation based on lot size is intended to create an average density between 8 and 16 dwelling units per net acre. Innovative residential development is strongly encouraged in order to provide a wide variety of housing types and costs to meet the needs of Gilroy’s residents. The following regulations, except to the extent that they may be modified by a combining district, shall apply to every lot and building in an R3 multiple-family residential district.
