About this home

The Durisol/Risom House is a mid-century modern structure known for its use of pioneering construction material and as the home of renowned Modernist furniture designer Jens Risom. The house was used to showcase Risom's work. Originally built in 1949 as a 3 bedroom,2 bath design, the house was expanded in 1959, adding a 4th bedroom and 3rd full bath, maintaining the architectural integrity. The property is on the market for the first time in over 50 years and is ready to be restored or renovated. The beautiful .65 acres could also be the site for the home of your dreams. Just steps to town and train, parks, shops and all that New Canaan has to offer.
