It is the purpose and intent of the R-1 single-family dwelling district to provide lands within the village for single-family residential uses, consisting of no more than one dwelling unit per any platted lot. Density shall not exceed 5.4 dwelling units/gross acre based on a minimum 8,000-square-foot lot size.
