Single-Family Residential District

These districts are designed to provide suitable areas for low-density residential development where appropriate urban services and facilities are provided or where the extension of such services and facilities will be physically and economically feasible. These districts will be characterized by single-family detached structures and such other structures as are accessory thereto. These districts also may include, as conditional uses, community facilities and utilities which serve specifically the residents, or which are benefited by and compatible with a residential environment.; It is the express purpose of this section to exclude from this district all buildings or other structures and uses having commercial characteristics, whether operated for profit or otherwise, except that home occupations specifically provided for in these regulations shall be allowed if they otherwise conform to the provisions of this chapter.; These districts also may include, as conditional uses, places of worship, public parks and recreation areas, golf courses and country clubs, public and private utilities, educational institutions, cultural activities, and day care services which serve specifically the residents or which are benefited by and compatible with a residential environment.
