Washington Park, located between Martin Luther King Jr. Drive SW and Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway NW, is a historic and residential Atlanta neighborhood with a landmark park and a classic streetcar-suburb grid. The neighborhood’s character concentrates around the Washington Park Natatorium and Recreation Center, where ballfields, pool decks, and shaded paths set a steady, communal rhythm. Early-20th-century bungalows and brick cottages line walkable blocks, with mature trees framing broad front porches. The Atlanta University Center and the Hammonds House Museum anchor nearby cultural gravity. The BeltLine Westside Trail adds a linear corridor for cycling and strolling. MARTA’s Ashby station ties the area to downtown without changing its grounded pace.
