Chestnut Hill Reservoir Historic District, located between Cleveland Circle and Boston College, is a historic and residential Boston neighborhood with a landmark reservoir loop and collegiate edges. The character concentrates along Beacon Street at Cleveland Circle, where streetcars, corner cafes, and small storefronts frame the rotary’s steady rhythm. The reservoir’s paved path and stone gatehouses set a calm, architectural backdrop of early-20th-century infrastructure and nearby brick apartment blocks. Boston College’s campus skyline and playing fields shape the western horizon. The Metropolitan Waterworks Museum anchors local history in a former pumping station. Chestnut Hill Restaurant and The Abbey add a low-key dining scene near the circle.
