Office District

The purpose of the O-1 Office District is to provide areas for office and professional buildings compatible with adjacent or nearby commercial and residential environments and in cases where such uses can provide a transition between more restrictive residential districts and less restrictive commercial or Industry Districts. The principal use of land is for professional offices for doctors, accountants, realtors, insurance agents, lawyers, dentists, architects, artists, engineers, and other business offices provided that the following uses shall not be permitted any office, business or establishment wherein retail or wholesale trade or business is conducted or wherein any commodities, merchandise or products are stored, handled, conveyed, sold or otherwise disposed. These areas are intended to be well defined and protected from the encroachment of uses not performing a function appropriate to the office environment. Single household and multihousehold dwellings are permitted to support employment uses in this District. Internal stability, attractiveness, order and efficiency are encouraged by providing for adequate light, air, and open space for dwellings and related facilities and through consideration of the proper functional relationships of each element
