There's something special about a home that invites you to slow down the moment you arrive. Misty View Cottage is one of those places. Tucked into a peaceful, private mountain setting, this lovingly maintained 3-bed, 2-bath cottage combines the character of days gone by with thoughtful updates for comfortable living today. Imagine opening the windows to mountain air, hearing the nearby stream, and spending long mornings on the covered wraparound porch with nowhere you need to be. Established perennials return year after year, while a generous garden spot is ready for tomatoes, beans, flowers—or whatever you've been dreaming of growing. Inside, the home's history hasn't been erased. Original narrow-plank hardwood floors, wood doors, and an old-fashioned wood-burning cook stove give the cottage a character that simply can't be recreated. The spacious living room features a large picture window and fireplace with wood-burning insert—the kind of room made for a crackling fire on a cool mountain evening. With two living areas, there's plenty of room to spread out. The primary suite offers a large walk-in closet and spacious private bath. The home has been beautifully maintained and improved over the years, with updates including windows, vinyl siding, plumbing, electrical, covered wraparound porches, and the primary bedroom and bath addition. A newer central heating and air system features dual-fuel heat with both propane and electric, providing modern year-round comfort while preserving the cottage's vintage appeal. Outside, a 1940s-era shed with its own root cellar is a wonderful reminder of the property's past. A large two-section storage building and additional open-ended shed provide plenty of space for tools, gardening equipment and mountain-living necessities. Misty View Cottage isn't trying to be brand new—and that's exactly its charm. It's a well-cared-for mountain home where porches are meant to be used, gardens are meant to be planted, and the sound of the stream may just become your favorite part of the day.
