Zoning
AP2
Agricultural Preservation 2 District
These districts are intended to protect and preserve areas of prime agricultural soils for continued agricultural and agriculturally oriented uses. These districts consist of the most agriculturally productive soils. Their loss cannot be readily compensated, since these soils are relatively scarce, particularly on the national level, and poorer soils require more capital energy and nutrients to provide equal productivity. For these reasons, land should not be converted from agricultural use to another zoning classification and uses are permitted in both use type and intensity which provide maximum opportunities for open space in order to insure the availability and protection of prime agricultural soils and soils of statewide importance. The 2 Agricultural Preservation Districts located to the south of Route 78 AP-2 Districts are intended for development at an equivalent density of 1 unit per 8.3 acres
