Agricultural District One
The purpose of the A-1 District is to: preserve and protect high quality agricultural soils and interwoven historically farmed soils, to prevent overcrowding of structures on agricultural land, to prevent undue concentration of population in agricultural areas, and to provide a method of obtaining the agricultural goals and objectives in the Town Comprehensive Plan. This district also specifies minimum requirements designating certain lands for exclusive agriculture use and to be eligible for the state of Wisconsin Farmland Preservation Program under Chapter 91 of the Wisconsin Statutes.; The intent of this district is to preserve and protect the high quality agricultural soils and interwoven historically farmed soils indicated as Agricultural areas on the Comprehensive Plan Map. These soils are significant natural, economic, and open space resources to the Community. Agricultural uses and uses compatible with agriculture are predominant in this district. Development in this district is to be sparse and only for agricultural purposes or uses associated with agriculture in order to help: maintain the Community's agricultural economic base, maintain agricultural property values, keep agricultural property taxes to a minimum, and improve farm profitability and resource preservation.
