MLS Listings
The MLS is the Multiple Listing Service, a database of local listings shared by brokers. Redfin is a broker. Brokers update the MLS as deals close, so MLS data is current and comprehensive. We show all MLS listings, unless the seller requests that the listing not be published on the internet. If a site is not run by a broker, it will often display only a partial set of listings, obtained through side-deals with individual brokers. The chart below shows how recently Redfin updated from the MLS data in your local area.

For Sale by Owner
The for-sale-by-owner inventory on Redfin comes from Fizber.com, FSBO.com, and ForSaleByOwner.com. Redfin doesn’t directly import for-sale-by-owner listings from other sources, such as owners.com and Craigslist.
Reporting a Problem
Occasionally, Redfin receives complaints about listings that appear on other sites but not ours. Often the listing has been sold, but sites that update their listings less frequently still show the property as being for sale. If you see a property for sale that isn't on Redfin.com, contact us and let us know the property’s address and where you saw the listing. We will respond immediately.
