The process was decent. Communication on the lenders end was lacking. This was not our first home purchase. This was a recommendation from a family member. Who had and again is using the same lender. The end of the deal communication a day before closing was dismal. Already a tense time but Steve the lender was out of town at the end. No complaints there. It was who he transferred his role over to. A guy named Jason who seemed very new to his role. Other members of "the team", including our agent Justin had trouble reaching him 1- 2 days before closing. Jason wasn't responsive to emails, texts or phone calls. He basically was MIA. NOT REASSURING FOR THE BUYER. We didn't think the deal was going to close on time but with some more phone calls and pressure, it closed on time. Totally unnecessary for that to have happened right before closing when Steve assured us before he left town the Thursday prior to closing that everything was set for closing, his reassurances were given to us. Then 4 days later, BOOM. That happened. Like I said, this was not our first time. We have plenty of life experiences and knowledge of how business transactions work. There were a few instances of lack of communication with OnPoint CU. They could have done better and I hope this is something they look for improvement.
