Relatively smooth process and sleek online interface, however, there is a lot of handoff between team members which led to miscommunication and mistakes in my case. A simple compliance review should have caught these mistakes, but they lingered until just before closing. There is also a lot of unnecessary redundancy in their document collection process (e.g. Better asked me to upload W2s at least 5 times even though the files were already on the portal. Historical W2s don't change.... That is just one example of redundancy I witnessed). Sure, the rates and loan costs are favorable, but there are a few too many hands in the pot for my liking. Everything was fixed in the end, and I own a house, but I felt like the process could be streamlined to prevent future mistakes. For what it's worth, my parents and neighbors have used Better and had lovely experiences.
