I actually contacted three mortgage brokers at the same time and Cross Country Mortgage is head and shoulders above the others in professionalism, openness and honest about APRs, fees and the process, timely responses and excellent communication. First Paul collected key information and presented me with two pre-approval letters (one at the amount requested and one higher) for us to show our realtor that we were serious buyers, then when figuring out which loan is best for us Paul presented us with facts and figures (actual data, APRs, est. time to break even for points with loan) which we appreciate. During the process for loan approval, Paul's team kept in contact with us and we always knew the status of our loan. Nicole was particularly excellent at keeping us on scheduled as well so our loan closed smoothly and on time (30 days). I highly recommend Paul's team for best interest rate, honest and open approach (knowledgeable on differences in loans), timeliness, and responsiveness.

Getting into my first home purchase, I heard a lot of horror and complex stories from close people who had bought houses on the loan buying process. Fortunately, I had none of those. In fact I had the opposite experience of how smooth and transparent the process was. The rates were highly competitive. The Johnson team absolutism fanatastic. They were on top of everything, processing, tasks, tracking, keeping us posted on the market, answering questions. I was actually surprised how Paul even hinted at how to create a competitive rate. I couldn't hope for a better and more cleaner transaction. Everything was neat perfect. The only better rate I found was with Wells Fargo, but only for 0 points, but their point perchance options were far worse. I'm very happy to recommend them to anyone.

Paul and the entire Guild team were an absolute joy to work with. They were clearly experts in their field, and not just from a knowledge standpoint. They were extremely fast and precise in the way they worked. Not only that, they beat the interest rate by a significant margin from the nearest competitor, and still delivered perfect customer service on top. If I even heard that a friend was considering buying a house, I would immediately tell them two things: 'Reach out to Nick Alexander at Redfin-- he was awesome, and shop around for lenders so you're comfortable, but there's no way you're going to beat Guild. They're a local small lender that is batting 1.000 in the major leagues-- they're experts."
